Southend v Manchester United - Tuesday, 07 November 2006

looks like another struggle just as we did against crewe. :nervous:

i'm gonna try reverse psychology like i did for the spurs v chelscum match.

we're shit, cant see us scoring, sack fergie, sell giggs

Southend defending well.Rooney having one of those games at the moment.

Great freekick, still

Smith is too direct for Rooney and Ronaldo's liking. He needs to try to drift into wide areas and make space. He's capable of it. He has put in some good crosses from the right.

It can't be Giggs fault, he isn't even playing;)

Our squad players are shite.

Ronaldo and Rooney ain't squad player, even though its only carling cup, it be embarrassing if we end up losing still.

We're having trouble keeping the ball.

Shocking performance so far.

HT:Try to convince myself that it is a meaningless competition.

Sack Fergie, Sell someone who's (about) 12 years old and probably won't ever play for United's first team again
I wish we sell Rich and Silvestre. And bought some cheap player like JSP from those money:rolleyes:

for the love of god,we cannot lose this, i wont be able to bear the press over reaction. i dont know whether to laugh or cry, :(

Southend are so pumped up that there are some hard tackles coming in on Rooney and Ronaldo. I'm really not sure we should be risking them like this.

Screw the CC if it means some key players get injured. We're top of the league FFS. We don't have a big enough squad to go all out in 4 competitions.

but c'mon, SOUTHEND, excuse my ignorance, but SOUTH - feckING - END, we cant lose to them, surely :nervous:

Ronaldo has been our only attacking force - he's made some good moves, and a great shot.
Smith looks like he needs at least 50 matches in order to get back to his best, Heinze is not looking too good either - though he's been better at the end of the half.

 Neither laugh or cry. Now is the time for some Anger!! WTF was that 1st half about? We had decent possession but were unable to create simple, clear chances in front of goal. Everyone seems eager to try fancy flicks around the box instead of making runs and finding space. Sort it out! Theres more than enough quality in this team to beat them.

And Smith really needs to show more attacking intent. He keeps receiving the ball with his back to goal and doing nothing productive with it. At least turn and have a shot once in a while. I know hes just come back from a serious injury but you have to put yourself about more to find your goalscoring form.

As long as we don't get any injuries and we win against Blackburn at the weekend, I really don't care so much.
Maybe we'll end up empty-handed at the end of the season and we'll be sorry we went out of the CC early. But after being top of the league at this stage of the season, ending up with just the CC is not going to be the band-aid it was last season.

We better buck up in the 2nd half or else the press will have a field day mocking us.
