After City's feeble performance against the Gooners, I'm hoping we can expect a similar favour from Spurs. I'm hoping even more that we won't need a favour.

The way things are turning out, a win by at least three goals will be needed from this match. Unless Arsenal drop points to Bolton on Saturday.

Barring injuries

Barthez

Wes Rio Silvestre O'Shea

Becks Scholes Phil Giggs

Ruud Ole

Becks probably did enough tonight to force himself back into the line-up. Butt and Keane have played virtually every game for the last month and need a rest. But i'd still like us to continue with Ole and O'Shea in the team.

Me too. O'Shea because he's the best defender we've got, and Ole because we generally score more goals when he plays, even if he doesn't score himself.

---------------Barthez---------------
G.Neville---Rio---Mickey---O'Shea----
Beckham---Fortune--Veron---Giggs-----
------------Scholes-----------------
-----------RVN----------------------

id give fortune a run in the team, good tackler, fast, good passer. Keano needs a rest also, looked really tired and jaded v.s Madrid.

That midfield would get stuffed, even by Spurs.

Barthez
Neville
Rio
Silvestre
O'Shea
Becks
Keane
Scholes
Giggs
Ole
Ruud.

That would be novel wouldn't it.

Veron hopefully will only get sub appearances when we're cruising - maybe even not that since we need goals.

I'd let him work on his fitness this summer, it's not worth blowing the title as well as Europe by messing with the team.

Does Wes have an injury I dont know of? Why didnt you two put him in your sides?

No room.

Beckham, Fortune, Scholes & Ricardo should start, give rest to Wes or Micky.
on the Bench Veron & Keane.

-------Ricardo\Barthez----------

Gary--Rio--Mick--O'shea

Bex--Fortune--Scholes--Giggs

--------Ole--RVN----------------

we should play 4-4-2 for this(no more 4-5-1 in EPL please) ..
Ricardo in goal maybe..
Wes has no room here because he made it hard for himself in the last couple of games..
Fortune deserves a game as keane needs a rest..
Veron comes in the second half if needed..
Ole played well on the right and upfront and should start this one..
I think we may put 3-4 goals past them but the most important is not to concede(Teddy/Keane )

I'm surprised Brown and Barthez have been left out in some people's teams.

With three games to go, messing with a defence wouldnt be wise, and it would seriously damage Brown's confidence.

Leaving out Fab would mean SAF basically saying he can leave in the summer. He's stood by Fab before and he was only at fault for Real's first goal. We dont have much in reserve.

If they're injured, of course, otherwise i'd rather keep our back line the same.

Agree about Fab. He is our goalkeeper. He is our no1. He has had a great season. He is better than either of the others. He may not be the best in the world, but I can't believe the way people are getting on his back.

Wes, However, could probably do with a rest, and Gazza will be champing at the bit, so swapping right backs might make sense. Neville's delivery is better anyway.

Oh for fecksaake, not another fecking "4-4-2" shit-for-brains. What do you think Ferguson's been trying for the past few years? He's been trying for a more fluid midfield (Real Madrid anyone?). United should have a formation for each opponent to inflict maximum damage...4-4-2 DOES NOT WORK AGAINST EVERYBODY!

My suggestion (open to abuse of course!):

Barthez

GazNeville Rio Silvestre O'Shea

PhilNeville Seba

Beckham/Ole Scholes Giggs

Ruud

I would probably prefer Becks cos he like scoring against the Spurts.

surprise, surprise, Sicknote is out sick.......

No doubt the media cnuts will be more focussed on whether Beckham plays or not, nevermind the title.

Ferguson said "I may make two or three changes just to get the freshness after the bumps, bruises and agonies of the Real game." which suggests we'll see Gary and Scholes back in, with one of Phil and Fortune in as well imo.

He also said regarding O'Shea "I wouldnt be afraid to play him in centre-midfield on Sunday against Tottenham. He would do well."

Wes Brown does't have a delivery, his distribution is shite :(

Barthez
Neville G
Silvestre
O'Shea
Neville P
Ole
Becks
Keane
Scholes
Giggs
Ruud

Thats' my team.

Not Fergie's tho!

Why do people keep on pairing Scholes and Veron together? Will never fecking work, not without Keane/Phil/Butt.

When was the last time Phil played left-back? He can do a job there but nothing more. Struggle to think why he'd play when we have better options.

I'd also question playing an untried central patnership in such a big game. That whole defence looks shabby imo.

Barthez
Gary Rio Wes O'Shea
Becks Keane/Butt/Phil/Fortune
Ole Scholes Giggs
Ruud
