No Rafael? Probably moyes worried about stokes aerial prowess despite Rafael proving he's capable there many times. Oh well. Great to see Carrick starting, no Valencia as well as the trio. Hope we see januzaj for young at one point.

That's just a brilliant team all around. Hope Rafael is rested and not injured again. Great to see Carrick starting, hope he steps up massively with such a strong front four in front of him!

Come on United!

I Can't Believe It's Not Valencia™

Change Young for Adnan, add Rafael, and that's probably the best team we can have available.

Do we really need to start Jones because of the whole height thing? Other than that good lineup.

Might just be to give him more game time rather than exclusively because of the height.

And Rafael instead of Smalling/Jones.

With him out, our right side will be inexistent going forward.

It isn't granted he'll play at RB though.

Prepare for the pre-match complaints about Smalling at RB.

That would be insanity.

Smalling has to pick up Crouch. Jones would need a step ladder!

Nice team.

The pre-match complaints will be about Jones at RB.

Jones for strength and power in the air you'd imagine. Hopefully it's not for "protection" down that flank with Mata playing on the right. I'd rather Rafa defensively.

Great team. Can sort of understand wanting Jones at RB due to the physical aspect of the game. Great to see Carrick back. Him and Cleverley should provide the platform for Mata, Rooney and RvP to thrive.

Right about Rafael - you want Jones and Smalling against Stoke

Yeah I agree that's probably our best XI. Hopefully we will see it at some point. We seem to rotate a lot compared to other teams.

Nice team though would have liked rafael on the right, if mata plays cutting in from te right would be good to have rafael on overlap but guess it makes sense to have jones for height.

Important game for clev today. If he is disciplined then he and carrick can give a good base for the others, if he starts drifting though it will be annoying.

It makes sense to leave januzaj out. He was being overplayed earlier, playing every minute and it probably made its toll on him mentally and physically. A 2 week break out of the spotlight is great for him IMO. Was hoping to see fletcher in there but Carrick-cleverley has shown its good before.

Jones will be at RB, not Smalling.

Absolutely delighted to see Valencia dropped finally.

Plus Mata plays largely the same type of role drifting in from wide positions so it makes sense to rest Adnando's.

Decent lineup. I can understand the need for Jones in the back line, given the height and physicality of stoke. Young deserves to keep his place after Cardiff, and it makes sense to have someone pacey and direct to stretch the play in the front 4 anyway - not sure Januzaj, Rooney, Mata, RvP would work particularly well.

Good team. I'd have liked to see Rafael, as he's not only our best right back, he's our only right back.

Good side though. Young essentially picked himself after his last game. Would have been harsh to drop him.

RVP, Rooney and Mata together. Boner.

Interesting to see how this wet dream of a Holy Trinity MkIII plays out today.

Interesting to see how this wet dream of a Holy Trinity MkIII plays out today.

Probably not going to gel instantly but one or two of them are bound to come up with some moments of brilliance that wins us the match.

Stoke XI: Begovic; Cameron, Shawcross, Wilson, Pieters; Odemwingie, Whelan, Adam, Arnautovic, Walters; Crouch

Whelan and Adam in CM.

Finally a CM we can dominate?
