Stoke City vs. Manchester United

This might sound unrealistic but I actualy expect all 3 of Rooney, RvP and Chicharito to score today, at the very least 2 of them :)

Looks like Fergie has gone with his patented 'have as many strikers on the pitch as possible' tactic.

Genius.

Kagawa or Rooney centre mid or wing?

Valencia is confusing me, it won't be a 4-3-3 with him like the other players playing would suggest.

Edit as above suggests, Valencia right back and Jones alongside Carrick makes more sense. I'd much prefer the impotent Valencia there anyway.

It'll almost definitely be this setup with Carrick and Jones in there for Cleverley and Fletcher, I reckon.

i wonder has he lost a bit of faith in cleverley or is Tom carrying an injury

was surprised when he didn't play vrs City let alone today
It does seem he has slipped down the pecking order. Could be a case of Jones getting preference over him at the moment.

RvP and Rooney are more versatile than conventional strikers. They can ge good crosses in and I'm sure whatever they offer will be better than what the wingers have been serving up of late.

I'm not expecting a great game from us. Just another to get the 3 points.

It's his first full injury free season, he had a very busy winter schedule. It'll do him no harm resting him. If he's fatiuged it's easier to get injured and its best to keep his form and confidence up than let the press get on him.

togg, how you holding up mate? Not being on here for a week feels like I haven't logged on in ages.

Got a bad feeling about this game, think we're in for a frustrating time.

I think we're all used to that now. Couldn't care less about the performance from now til the end of the season as long as we get the 10 points we need really.

As the Americans might put it, United need to "bounce back".

I say we will. Count on a score close to 0-4. With a bit of bad luck, maybe only 0-3.

Possibly, but games are not really coming thick and fast that warrants resting players to much at the moment. Even if he has slipped down the pecking order a bit, it has been a good season for him

I really don't see how you could be more nervous about facing Stoke than you would be facing Madrid in a knock-out Champions League tie, makes no sense.

Valencia right back, Jones in midfield alongside Carrick. The rest doing whatever the feck they want?

I don't care about the performance, today is all about getting 3 points.
