Sunderland vs Manchester United

Its funny how we dont seem to trouble teams at all currently.

Neville and Oshea havent helped at full backs either.

We look like concede everytime any team attacks atm.

Put on Ronaldo and take off Park for the second half pls.

So while we look like conceding a goal every time they attack us, you think it's a good idea to bring on a player who will contribute almost nothing defensively for someone who contributes plenty defensively?

Ignoring the fact that would ruin the entire idea behind giving Ronaldo a rest, that's still senseless.

Berbatov would be alot better if he played higher up the pitch and actually got in a position to take more shots at goal (i.e. the box).

Rooneys yellow was harsh? Was it for discent? Neville's dive was terrible the tit. Fosters been ok, but his communication with Vidic looks to be shit. O'Shea putting in another solid performance as normal and I've been fairly impressed with Tevez's ability to hold the ball up. Scholes and Carrick simply aren't controlling the midfield. Fair play to Sunderland though, they'd done more in 30 minutes than Blackburn did in 90. They've made a game of it and Jones is a bloody handful.

Berbatov has controlled the ball superbly and he does just no give the ball away.

If anyone think he's had an average game either he has a very bad stream or is plain deluded.

You say he's been 'brilliant', and you accuse others of being deluded?

You're in an absolute fantasy land mate. He's barely fecking touched the thing

He was instrumental in the build up of the goal and shown plenty of other nice touches. The guy is not 100% and lacking a little match practice.

He simply took a pass with his back to goal, turned and touched it out wide to Rooney. What was so impressive about it?

other than the one moment when Berbatov controlled the ball in midfield with several Sunderland players around him, he is showing his lack of match fitness...

just thought if we had Macheda on the wings and Rooney moves to replace Berbatov...things may be interesting..

o'shea and neville are fecking shit, we cant defend, we can barely even pass at the minute, its stemiing from the defensive frailties and we will be lucky not to conceed in this game

Macheda's not a winger though, so that'd be stupid.

True that.

Lets list all the involvements Berbatov had that half :

1) Controls the ball well and holds off some challenges, plays the ball simply left to Rooney. Rooney crosses for the Scholes goal

2) Tevez slightly overhits a cross and Berbatov is stretching and unable to control it.

I cant remember anymore, but I switched streams 2 or 3 times and might have missed 1.

Tevez probably only has 2 or so involvements himself so I'm not saying he's been much/any better. Imo neither one has been involved enough.

To be clear I'm not on Berba's back, he had a reasonable half, not involved as much as I'd like, but given he's just back from injury, ok

But to say he's been brilliant is almost as bad as the yellow card given to Rooney. YES THAT BAD

Just look where Berbatov is now, just strolling, not even near the box

Really, he's pretty anonymous

Thinks about it - but not too hard because that'd miss the point of snap judgements. I reckon Berbatov was more available than Tevez and Park and looked more likely to do something useful with the ball than anyone except Rooney.

fecking hell ive missed half of the game again

the thread started has got the time wrong

Why do all our defenders keep backing off players
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Much better start to the second half. The strikers are already looking more involved. And Rooney deserves a goal.
