Sunderland vs. Manchester United

Embarrassingly similar to the Valencia game, where we're happy to sit back and absorb the pressure. While riding a ridiculous slice of luck.

Hope it'll end up the same, with Hernandez impersonating God again.

At least we played a sensible formation at Valencia. We aren't good enough atm to persist with 4-4-2 away from home. Our midfield gets swamped.

Like feck he is. His passing has been bloody awful.

Who's been our best player then? Scholes has been marked closed out of the game, same with Fletcher. Strikers have been anonymous, defence could've conceded three. I guess that leaves VDS who has played well.

Owen has drifted to the left a lot. Anderson seems to be playing further up the field, in the attacking midfielder/playmaker role, and has looked our most dangerous player so far.

Bebe for Owen now, play Nani and Bebe as wingers / wide-forwards, push Anderson into the middle.

If we're still struggling around the hour mark bring on Hernandez/Berbatov and Gibson and then hope for a 30 yard screamer from Evil Carrick to snatch a win.

Watch this game get cut for college football in 50 minutes.

McManaman is wrecking my head. His whole job has comprised of:

Praising Onohua for being such a great athlete
Praising Bent for scoring goals even though he hasnt actually scored (please pay attention to the game youre watching you plank)
Criticising Scholes for being man marked out of the game

We look half asleep, getting passed around in midfield and offering nothing going forward, bizarre team selection with Ando left-ish for a bit and no Berbatov.

Absolutely shoddy performance that. Sunderland pressed us well and created some chances but all our boys looked absolutely listless. We're giving them too much time on the ball as well, we could learn something from the way Sunderland has played so far. They're just not working hard enough.

Why play without a left side:wenger:

United always struggle against teams that press high though, nothing new.

I don't understand a lot of things about this game??

Who is playing left wing?? Anderson??? Why are we not playing 442 against Sunderland?? Why does John o'shea just hoof it aimlessly most of the time?? Why is Berbatov bot playing?? Why are we playing like old men who have never played together before?? Why haven't we got any players who can get behind there midfielders and make something happen??!!!

ANGRY!!

We need to keep the ball on the deck play with more pace and get 2 wingers on the pitch. Do we want to win the league this year?! Let's have some balls fergie!

We've dne really well so far to keep it at 0-0, considering its 5 v 11

Awful game so far, hope we wake the feck up for the second half.

As an aside, this gimp commentating with mcmanamanamanamanaman is horrific. Really really bad, as if he's explaining things to small children.

I ended up reading an article on MGMT towards the end of that half then, that's how bored I became.

Anderson seems to be our most promising attacking outlet so far, we'll be a different side second half hopefully, SAF will sort this as usual.

Owen will score.

worst half of football I've seen from United for a long time

about right.

They have flooded the midfield and we have no answer.

Anderson has been good but lost his way after he has won the ball.

Scholes and Fletcher have no idea how to deal with their midfield.

tbf to Macheda and Owen, they have had no service.

Nani has been really quiet.

We need a left wing option and Berbatov to hold up the ball. Owen should be off.

To be fair, we were shite against Valencia and all. So it's nothing new.

We weren't great against Bolton, but at least we looked like scoring (and did) then. I'd rather we at least threatened the SUnderland goal, even if it does risk us conceding. At the moment we'll be lucky to draw 0-0

Anderson has been the best of our midfielders. Rafael looks good too.

Anderson has given the ball away at least 3 times. Once on a backpass. To say he's been out best midfield just proves how shite the rest have been. It's been abysmal.

Fletcher might as well not be playing and Scholes doesn't look fit.

Poor half, and we'll be lucky to steal another win like we did against Valencia.

O'Shea's best defensive display this season. Him, Rio and Vida have been our best players, along with van der Sar.

Berbatov and Bebe time I feel.

On a side-note, Steve McManaman's a complete cock.

We need to switch away from 442, it's killing us.

I'd say Rafael was clearly our best player. Passing well, defending nicely and making really good runs forward.

I'd take off Owen and Fletcher. Push O'Shea into midfield, get Evra on as LB and play Bebe on the left. Have Macheda as our only forward and play 4-5-1. Then bring Berbatov on if Macheda starts poorly.

I'd like to see some more movement from Anderson (From our whole midfield actually). He's been good whenever he's been involved.

It looks like we've just abandoned the left side.

Reminds me of the Fulham game a couple of years back.... the way we're playing..
Atleast we were 10 men then

We have lately been a second half team.. so watch out.. We'll come with guns blazing

Mecheda's done more than Owen. And Strikers arn't the problem, the bloody midfield is, Creating bugger all.

Yes but Berbatov more likely to hold the ball up allowing a player like Owen to make runs in behind the defence. Macheda won't do that..

Evra will offer lots more going forward too.

Don't actually see many blaming O'Shea. He's been a bit wank in attack but his defending has been solid enough. Good clearance from the back.

One header where even he won't know what he was doing and getting skinned once. He's not been great himself. Seemed to be improving towards the end of the half though

utter shit performacnes, CL hangover on us again :(

Oh man... that was actually a really bad half. Worst of the season by far.

Is there a reason Berbatov and Evra aren't playing?

We really struggle to cope with any team that comes at us and closes us down... why don't we play a high pressure approach? We shouldn't be a counter-attacking team... especially when the counter-attacks are so dire in this case.

Awful game so far, hope we wake the feck up for the second half.

It is for an American audience, hence why he highlighted that Dempsey had scored for Fulham, but didn't tell us about any other goals.

I understand stuff like that but he's acting as if Americans know nothing about the game, it's horrible. He should stick to boxing.
