Sunderland vs. Manchester United

We were rubbish. Owen offered nothing and didn't seem to try in the first half. Kiko was tracking back and at least attempting to do something.

When are we going to sort ourselves out?

On a plus side, defence seem more structured now with Rio back and two consecutive clean sheets. Rafael looks great too!

Thought we were much better in the second half, but overall poor performance. Really can't afford to keep dropping these points.

1 point against Cattemole's team is good enough

We really need a creative midfielder. This season is beginning to echo the 2004-06 era.

4 points from 4 winnable away games is just not good enough.

We were rubbish. Two weekends when Chelsea were playing really difficult games, and fecked them both up.

Today was horrible. Why start with Macheda and Owen on a weekend which could possibly have taken us a point or level on points with Chelsea? It's just baffling. What was the player who has been our best sitting on the bench? We looked twice the team when Hernandez and Berbatov came on.

Really terrible team selection and we almost got what we deserved. Oh, and what was the point of Macheda wide left and Owen as the lone striker, or Owen wide left, which happened during certain parts of this game. Baffling.

What is the point of Anderson? He doesn't score, he doesnt' pas well, he isn't a winger he isn't a striker, he is not the new Scholes.

8 points dropped away from home. A total of 4 points.

This is not the form of champions. When we had the chance to close the gap on Chelsea and Arsenal we failed last week and again we had the chance of playing before them and threw it away.

A lot of knee jerking here. The players didn't do too bad, we just lacked width and penetration, which is tough when you're playing without a left winger.

Why is anyone criticism always called knee jerking here?

We were atrocious once again and people are entitled to vent their frustration.

dont know what to say... depressing.

If berbatov was fit for the bench why not play him fergie??

We look a player or 2 short of a title winning team, that much has been obvious for the best part of a year yet it hasnt been addressed. We need a spark which we havent got with the current squad.

Slightly better in the second half but nowhere near good enough, I thought we livened up once Hernandez came on but the service to him and Berba was pathetic and really they crafted our two best openings between them.

A decent result, taken in isolation. But disappointing given that we need to start winning some away games.

I think its a bit unfair to judge Macheda as a LW and Owen as a lone frontman.

Baffling formation.

I'm starting to fear this is our poorest team since the Djemba, Kleberson, Bellion era.

Even more worrying is that Fergie seems equally as deluded about this squads abilty as he did about that one. This team has nowhere near as much quality as he thinks it does.

That was a disappointing game. We never really looked like we wanted to win. The team selection as well... Pretty gutted right now cos it just looked like a half arsed performance. It feels like the spark that was up berbatov's arse has worn off. WE've been playing alot better when everything we did went through him. Sure it's not the way we play, but when it's effective and attractive, why the hell not?!

Fergie's team selections are becoming more ridiculous by the match. His line up vs Rangers was piss poor and to "rest" Berbatov and Evra and start with the obviously impotent Owen Macheda combo is unbelievable.

Evra and Berba have 2 week breaks after this bloody hell!

In Rooney's absence, it simply has to be Berba and Chicharito up front.

No fecking pissing about.

I honestly can't think of a reason not to play the best players you have in a game like this. This was the last game before the break and psychologically very important given Chelsea and Arsenal play tomorrow. I couldn't believe some of the tactical decisions and team selections today. Ridiculous.

fergie pissed

Should give himself the hairdryer treatment. Such a difficult away game, with a Sunderland team, that are very very energetic in the middle of the park, and not too shabby up top, so he goes with Macheda and Owen(both haven't started a match this season), and neither lists, holding the ball up as a skill in their CV.

5 points is not an insurmountable deficit, but the deficiencies we have in our team/squad will mean we will not be able to outduel Chelsea come the end of the season.

Being undefeated counts for naught, when it means you have drawn 4 out of 7 matches.

fecking hell, we've some right muppets on here. Fergies shit and this is the worst team we've ever had  Spoilt feckers have lost all perspective.

This is very true and although some might think its reactionary the signs have been there for a long time now.

Fergie should have splashed the cash because we losing ground on chelsea and fast.

I love this place when we don't wipe the floor with teams....

Oops, I meant loath...

You're the muppet for not seeing what's plain for most.

You're deluding yourself. We've been poor for weeks, we're making poor tactical choices and starting line-ups week after week. It's massive cause for concern.

I could understand Rangers to a point.

But this game was super important. What a great opportunity to get closer to Chelsea. And the number of strange decisions throughout the match. I mean, Macheda and Owen wide left? Come on now.

Oh feck sake, this team isn't immune to criticism and 8 points dropped already isn't good enough. You'll not be saying the same thing when/if Chelsea go 5 points clear tomorrow.

Were you one of the OTT posters?

If you really are so messed up that you think this is the worst team we've ever had, and Fergie is deluded, then God help you.
