Will be pleasantly surprised if we win this.

Swansea have been playing competitive football for over a week and are very difficult to beat at home.

I have a good feeling about you Damien....

We'll win this 2-1

I've got a pretty good record with match threads (some from newbies).

Otelul Galati 0 - 2 Manchester United
Aldershot Town 0 - 3 Manchester United
Manchester United 2 - 0 Otelul Galati
Manchester United 3 - 2 Braga
Chelsea 2 - 3 Manchester United
Chelsea 5 - 4 Manchester United
Manchester United 2 - 0 Wigan Athletic

Granted, the majority weren't exactly against the Barcelona and Real Madrid's of the world, but they still count.

A win is a win and we were really unlucky against Chelsea

A draw wouldn't usually be a bad start to Swansea, but considering we have Chelsea, City and Liverpool coming up in the first few weeks of the season - it would be ideal to get off to a quick start.

Will be tough but a win would be very important here, considering our first 5 games.
De gea
Fabio Ferdinand vidic Evra
Carrick Cleverley Anderson
Valencia van persie nani

If nani isn't fit, then either Kagawa or zaha I think. Moyes seems to like the 4-3-3 judging by today and the friendlies we've played, think nani would be great in this system too.

A win would be great but a lot would depend on how the important players progress in terms of their fitness. As things stand, a draw looks likeliest.

Mostly we played 4231. Which is also the formation he played at Everton. I think today he went for 433 because he didn't want to start Kagawa, and with Rooney also out there was no obvious candidate to play in the hole. 433 suited the available players best, but I think the signs are that 4231 will be his go-to formation.

*or Welbeck, or Zaha (swapping the wings), or Januzaj

No Giggs, for me. I've not been hugely impressed with him in pre-season. He still does the good stuff beautifully, but he doesn't do enough of the hard work and you can constantly see other players having to cover for him as a result. Plus we want to keep him fresh, use him wisely.

Draw seems the likely result, United were ok against Wigan, but that performance against Swansea wont make for a likewise scoreline. Going for 2-2.

I'd probably take a draw to be honest, Swansea away isn't easy at the best of times but for the first game of the season it will be even tougher. Point here then 3 against Chelsea would be a great start.

That would be a good enough team. Hopefully Nani will be back. Don't think Rooney will play though. I'd have Welbeck instead of him.

To be fair its more likely to be the other way around :smirk:

What an annoying time to have an international break.

I just hope that our lads all come back fit.

It'd be great to pick up three points here and go into the Chelsea game with some extra confidence. A draw wouldn't be too bad either though, as The Liberty Stadium is no easy place to visit.

Do Swansea have many internationals too?.

I can see our players coming back tired for this - sucks really against a energetic team who love to pass and move.

They have given us quite a bit of trouble in recent games, and if our passing is not up to it I think we will struggle.

It's difficult to pick the side with internationals yet to be played but with those in mind I'd go with:

de Gea
Fabio Ferdinand Vidic Evra
Carrick Cleverley
Nani Anderson Welbeck
Van Persie

Fábio Ferdinand Evans Evra
Carrick Cleverley
Valencia Welbeck Zaha
van Persie

Lindegaard; Jones, Smalling; Anderson, Giggs, Kagawa; Hernandez

Hoping Hernandez is ready to be on the bench and perhaps Nani, but we'll probably not find that out until Friday. I fancy Vidic to be rested and we'll use our two defenders who are probably the most comfortable on the ball. Januzaj could make the bench depending on the fitness / readiness of Nani, Kagawa, Young, Hernandez etc and also if Valencia / Giggs are left in the side.

I think it will be a winning start but by a late goal and some draw of the luck. Bony looks like he can cause trouble but I think we will just about have enough fire power.

How have Swansea done pre season regarding transfers in/out? Last i heard there were real issues between the manager and chairman regarding transfers...

Very well. If you ask me. Here's a list of their business this window.
I watched their EL qual games against Malmö and they looked good. Both Amat, Shelvey, Bony, Pozuelo and Cañas seemed to fit in well. Getting Pozuelo for €500K could be real value for money.

Wait so this is on Sky 2? Nice.

I have a Virgin media box, does that mean I can watch it on Sky 2?
