Really happy with the result, pre-season was not wholly convincing and this looked a tough start on paper. Fantastic start to the season

I think they might prove to be an excellent 3 points, Swansea aren't a bad side at home.

I think we have gained a vital three points as I can see us losing some points in the next couple of matches. Good result.

Or we might just get through the next 4-5 games with maximum points :) Almost nobody chalked us down as winning this Swansea game, and see how it turns out!

Excellent excellent result and I was very worried about the team sheet before the game. RvP was the difference and of course Welbeck played very well too. Defensively we were sound but don't think Cleverley or Giggs did much. Swansea are going to be a good team again this year, Bony looks like he could be a top signing.

I hope so, that would be the best outcome. In fact I don't mind people doubting us, we'll just prove them wrong. My friend who watched the match with me predicted that Liverpool were going to win the league this year.

Believe so.

In fairness to the bloke and don't get me wrong but I'm not condoning the behaviour it must be very difficult for him hearing all the shite that gets said about him week in week out (yes he hasn't done himself any favours over the years). He was asked to do a job today and I think he done it very well I'm sure he expected to get hammered from the terraces as he has been getting hammered on here and everywhere else.
None of us know (probably not likely to ever know) what has gone on in the dressing room over the last few months for all we know he could have been getting lambasted by the dressing room and now feels like an outcast (I know if it was me I wouldn't be celebrating either)

In the run up to Welbz goal there seemed to be a reluctance on some of the players to play the ball to rooney and it was valencia that played the ball when he made himself available there had been 3/4 previous chances to play the ball to him.

Great result, didn't play particularly well but got the win, obviously a few errors we can improve on but I thought they were more individual mistakes rather than something missing from the team. Bit disappointing we didn't give Kagawa or Zaha a run out but not really a big deal.

I should have made it clearer just for you IB. He cannot dribble at a level of a Messi, Ronaldo et al, and he cannot dribble like that in confined spaces whereas a select few can.

He can and has, but it doesn't surprise me that you're the one saying this. You seem to be contrarian for the sake of it.

Thank you for clarifying that anyone that can't dribble like Messi or Ronaldo can't dribble for toffee. There are a lot of terrible dribblers in the world then.

Reminded me a bit of playing sunday mornings.

Your strike partner scores, and while you're glad the team has scored, you're a little gutted it's not you ;)

An assist that was deflected, he was still poor and on another day cost have cost us dearly

Or he could have got us a goal. That is his role. Not ball retention. Not short passes, but to be the person who takes a chance. He does that, and often he gets us goals and wins matches. He's not in the team to play safe!

Out of about 20 passes 18 went to Swansea players

Or on another day when Giggs isn't there, no one plays the ambitious ball, there's no deflection and maybe we don't score first. He took the chance and got some luck which helped create a goal. He gives the ball away because he's trying to do something tough, do you really think he couldn't just play keep ball? I reckon he could do it better than most in the league, but being willing to try something tough and being able to pull it off is what makes him a match winner. As I said in the other thread, goals like the one against West Ham that brought us back in to the game only happen because players like Giggs are willing to try something tough and if you accept that then you have to accept that it won't always come off.

Nonsense, of course he is. He's a risk player, but the management is surely aware of that. He's gonna give the ball away a lot, defintely, but as others said, he's also capable of producing moments of magic that get us goals. I trust the management to use him when they feel he can be useful and his risk game is suited to the tie, and so should you frankly.

I'm not sure the 'I told you so' stuff about Giggs is merited. He was what a lot of people predicted: excellent in flashes, but lost the ball too often and didn't really contribute much off the ball.

Today he was the right choice, and by his current standards it was a decent showing. But when Kagawa, Nani and Rooney are fully fit, Giggs shouldn't be first choice. Keep him for certain games or to bring on when we're struggling.
