Excellent performance against the arsonists. I'm glad Rooney came on and he played some lovely touches. I was all for selling him a couple of weeks ago but I hope he stays now. He belongs here.

Fantastic result and its easy to see that we have our best set of strikers since 1999. In fact I don't think 1999 has anybody that could match RVP!
Not much to moan about as it was a very good performance in an extremely difficult opening match fixture. The fitness levels of Welbeck and Cleverley are clearly on another level from last year! Those two never looked tired and were sprinting all over the place even at the 90th minute. Very well taken second goal by Welbeck and he is going to be a star for us.
Nice to see Rooney get a run out and he looked sharp setting up Welbeck for his goal. Loved to see him eager to get on the ball all the time. Hopefully the Rooney of old has returned and Moyes can convince him to stay at the club.

Great game, tough opening fixtures but the lads did brilliantly. I have some concerns about some of the players but I'm not going to be negative, this is an amazing way to begin the season with too many positives to be too pragmatic right now. Very encouraging in any case!
