Spurs have Ndombele and Lo Celso as their 3rd and 4th choice midfielders. Both would absolutely walk into this United team. They have a much better squad.
As I said I do want him out but I was certainly offering some leeway after some decent form. I even changed my vote to stay after the Everton game as despite the fact we didn't win, there were signs of progress after the Spurs and City wins. However I've since reverted back as I'm fully sure this cycle of good to shit will continue under him. It was the only time I've changed my vote and I can't envisage it happening again.
Both sides though have some serious extremists. And while they think their opinions are ever so right and valid, they really aren't, as extremist views in general never are. If someone keeps repeating how 'Ole in' they are, all that does is reaffirm that they lack any sort of objectivity and will stand by their view no matter what. That's not a good angle to take. It looks more like they care about being right on an internet forum than caring about the club.
Would they though? Both have been crap when played and repeatedly injured. So no, I don't think so. This isn't FIFA. Now Mourinho is there he's even looking to turds like Dier, who's easily as shit as Matic.
We can go through the whole team, as far as squad strength goes, Spurs have Harry Kane. Every other department it's the same level as us or weaker.

That's why I'm saying that given all their circumstances their squad is not in any way stronger than ours. It would be if Eriksen, Vertonghen and Alderweireld were remotely committed but they're not. And in terms of their new signings, Lo Celso is too injury prone and Ndombele too poor to even break through ahead of Winks and Sissoko.

The state of this place when we sack Ole and the next manager has us in a similar state. Who will be a fault then? The new manager, the players, the fans, the owners? I'm not Ole in because I think he's the best man for the job. I'm Ole in because it's so fecking obvious this club has not learned from past mistakes and any new manager appointment is going to be a repeat of what we've seen in the past 6 years, albeit maybe with a good run at a Mickey Mouse trophy thrown in.

There is some truth in that but we watched him last night watch Luke Shaw move like someone attempting to push a beer keg up a steep hill and never think that a change was necessary.
He needs to have the balls to come out and say publicly that we need serious reinforcements now or we are heading for 8th place. His job depends on it.

There is not a shred of a doubt that he should have made subs before the second goal, way before even the half-time, because we got lucky like 5 times there and it was obvious we were going to concede with the players we had on the field.
That said, the whole "worst manager we have had in the past 30 years" is still nonsensical exaggeration, because
- Well, for the most of the past 30 years we had the best manager in the history of football - SAF, so obviously anybody is worse than him
- Since then we've had:
- Moyes - clueless twat, who Ole is not worse than
- LvG - a soon-to-be-retired flop who was never going to build for long-term. So, no Ole is still not worse than him
- Mourinho - one of the most decorated coaches ever. Was never going to be our long-term solution and failed to deliver on short-term so while he is not worse than Ole, comparing him with Ole is like comparing apples with oranges.
We will need to go through at least 4-5 more managers before we can declare Ole "worst manager of the decade". And that will be a decade, stop trying to sneak-in "30 years" curveball

I think the problem with Ole is that he got a great chance to start with. Expectations lowered due to Mourinho being crap near the end.
Time to learn what was needed for his first transfer window. A squad that ended second with lots of young talents in it and some experience. A squad happy to have him since Mourinho lost the dressing room near the end.
It was the best platform you could imagine as a manager even if the quality of squad lacked in certain areas.

You are bang on about the hard to quantify point. All this talk about culture, mentality etc is all just talk, only when we fix the technical problems in our play, we can look at mentality or whatever. There is no point in never giving up and giving it all when there is no substance in our play.

To be fair to him he was doomed to failure when the club never replaced the 2 midfielders and 2 forwards that left last year.
I can't really blame Ole for the decline but he was always going to take the fall.
Have you watched any other team? Most managers don't like to change quickly, this includes Klopp, Pochetino and the likes. Mourinho might be the quickest on the "trigger" but we've had him, didn't work out.
Point is, you stick to your team for the most part. I'd understand the frustration if he was keeping someone really good on the bench, but what are his options really?
