The balance of the team

If it wasnt for De Gea that wouldn't be the case. For the second year in a row our goalkeeper has been our best player..

There's no such thing as "if it weren't for De Gea", as he's part of the team like everyone else.

Totally. So look how much better we'd look if he had quality defenders in front of him so he didn't have to perform heroics.

You never know - last summer, look how much better we would be on the wings if we just benched the useless Young and bought a proper world class talent like Angel Di Maria, who helped Madrid win the CL. The moral of the story is the grass isn't always greener on the other side and sometimes getting the players you already have to play as a team as we are now, is far more powerful than the latest muppet signing.

Our defending as a team has looked quality since that win against Spurs really. De gea has hardly been noticed. So that's why I don't think its the individuals aren't good enough, rather them just taking a while to form a partnership and get used to the system.

So has LVG finally been able to sort this balance he was banging on about all season?

For my money, he seems to have just transferred that lack of balance from one part of the squad, to another.

Agreed. Rooney needs to pull up his socks because he carries the full weight of scoring our goals on his shoulders. Nobody is expecting Martial and Wilson to really contribute this season.
