I agree that it's Goodfellas-lite, liked it mostly because of the music choices, especially this one.
Tbh I thought Casino was dreadful ( but I too liked Goodfellas very much )
my wife is the, same hates it , always calls it a man's film.
I love the music to Le Mepris. It's also one of Godard's best in my opinion.
Although the baseball bat scene in Casino is one of the most haunting scenes in cinema ever.
