The New low (I.) Q. Republicans and Ted Cruz

The right wing only has two modes now. Either "everyone that is not me engages in pedophilia" or "everyone on TV that faints and has medical issues is vaccine injured", which is all organised by the deep state. I truly have no idea how these people live their day-to-day lives. It must be so exhausting. There is something about their authoritarianism, maybe even totalitarianism at this point, when it becomes so ingrained into your life that the entirety of everyday reality is a lie, but at the same time you are making up the lies so you can keep yourself within that reality.

 that goes along way to explaining it. But i think i'm talking more about how they actively seek out random things to attach conspiracy to, so literally nothing in a day-to-day existence is real, and thus validates their authoritarianism/totalitarianism.

So take the "vaccine injury" stuff. They actively seek out random stuff that happens and then absorb it as "see the lives we live are not real", which then they turn into, "someone has to be punished so the truth/true reality can be set free", which then turns into "we need dictator to execute the deep state".

So the "it's not a lie, if you believe it" is that "we" need authoritarianism/totalitarianism to fix society, has become the default view of the world for the right wing. But to keep belief in that lie, they have to create lies about the randomness of everyday life to sustain it. So they have absolutely no grounding in reality.

I cannot even comprehend what that kind of existence must feel like.

It's just a distraction, to deflect away from having to talk about stuff that matters, like actual policies, which they don't have

Nothing about DeSantis pushing an educational agenda for schools which highlight the “historical benefits” of slavery for black people by teaching them useful skills?

Who the feck are these people?

Discussed in another thread.

We might need a new thread, the MAGAs are just creating fantasy narratives devoid of reality, usually accusing others of that which they themselves are guilty of.

As for their political prospects, they're likely driving lots of voters away. This may be their death rattle, but they are doing and can still do great damage.

Their violent rhetoric is getting people killed. FBI had to kill a MAGA radical yesterday in Utah when he opened fire on them.

Weaponized stupidity

"I'll tell you what they (the wealthy) don’t want: They don’t want a population of citizens capable of critical thinking. They don’t want well informed, well educated people capable of critical thinking. They’re not interested in that. That doesn’t help them. Thats against their interests.

"They don’t want people who are smart enough to sit around a kitchen table to figure out how badly they’re getting fecked by a system that threw them overboard 30 fecking years ago. They don’t want that. You know what they want? They want obedient workers. Obedient workers.

"People who are just smart enough to run the machines and do the paperwork, and just dumb enough to passively accept all these increasingly shittier jobs with the lower pay, the longer hours, the reduced benefits, the end of overtime and the vanishing pension that disappears the minute you go to collect it, and now they’re coming for your Social Security money. They want your retirement money. They want it back so they can give it to their criminal friends on Wall Street, and you know something? They’ll get it. They’ll get it all from you, sooner or later, 'cause they own this fecking place. It's a big club, and you ain’t in it."
