The Saudi Takeover Rumor Thread

In fairness I have never seen anybody dab, on the street, in London, where work/live. So, if there are some who really are addicted to dabbing, they should do this in their own home.
Regarding being gay, if you want to practise this, then do it in private.

You seem to think that a personal CCTV camera will follow you around, in Saudi Arabia - this is not the case.
As long as you are sensible, you won't be arrested for dabbing or being gay.

Remember, every nation has it's own customs. Just because those customs do not synchronise with English customs, it doesn't make that country bad. For example, I fully support the no alcoholic drinking rule. It improves health, lowers crime and hooliganism. Those in the middle east would argue that England is crazy for allowing alcohol.

Jesus christ. I know this just shows the different cultures represented on here, but it also shows how stuck in the dark ages some people are. Now I see why you've got no problem with such a takeover.

Glory hunters everywhere. Some people would clearly kill their own mothers if it meant “challenging” City (aka buying new toys). Shameful.

To be fair, if done privately I don't see the issue.

Alcohol is legal in most Middle Eastern countries.

I'd say that's a minimum required for being a top red.

I'm pretty sure some people in the Pogba/Martial/Mourinho/Lukaku threads are guaranteed mass murderers.

Glazers are from a country that has done shady shit.
The Saudi family do shady shit.

If you can't see the difference you're too far gone.

Spot on. @el3mel this is the difference. But don't get me wrong I don't care if the Saudi's take over as long as they spend and don't interfere too much in the football side.

I do agree that almost all countries have a dirty side. Britain and US for funding the Saudi's - all 3 countries responsible for the death of lots of innocent people. But let's not get too political here as I know that will sting some people here.

Its Bill Gates interested in buying us? Its the only one I think that does not have any baggage.

Bill gates won't spend stupid money though. We need an owner that will spend stupid and doesn't have a lot of bad history  hard to find!

Fecking hell mate you shouldn't be arrested for either under any circumstances in any society that is even remotely modern. You are basically reinforcing my point, Saudi Arabia isn't simply a different culture it's backward culture.

And of course the fans are allowed to speak up against stuff like this. It's not at all about "trying to feel morally superior", it's about actually caring about what goes on in the world, and taking a stance. I don't want Manchester United to become a PR project for the Saudis. I don't want Manchester United to become a washing machine for dirty, blood stained money. And I certainly don't want Manchester United to be associated with slavery, public executions and suppressive theocracies. There are ways to win titles that don't involve this direction. They can do a magnificent job at rebuilding the club, hiring the right people, and get the train moving the right direction, but I still don't think it's worth it. Hell, even if we win 10 straight league titles, with a few CL trophies and finals along they way, it won't be worth it.
Eh... I think it's exactly what United needs right now. Otherwise look at AC Milan and even Leeds United. Who knows a couple more years in barren land may land our dear Manchester United at?

When you are in hell (Yes, praying for Chelsea to win the League in fear that City or Liverpool may win it is hell to me), only the devil can help you. Beggars can't be picky, I guess? We have allowed ourselves to fall so far in the football world that United needs to be saved NOW, no matter if it's by blood money or not.

Most of us would want lives to be spared over winning titles mate believe it or not

I wholeheartedly disagree with every single word in this post.

Dabbing is seen as a symbolic gesture, hinting towards use of cannabis or other illegal drugs and hence banned by Saudi Arabia.

So the use of dabbing amongst players/fans/club associates etc would almost certainly be banned should the Saudi's take over the club?

I am now officially on board with the idea of a takeover. Fecking hate dabbing.

Shouldn't you be comparing your owners' human rights crimes against those of the Glazers...?

*hint* that's who actually owns Man Utd.
No, that's been done to death on another thread.
*hint* The thread title explains that this one is about possible potential new owners for United and my comment is my opinion on your double standards as a poster.

The 1850s Englishman in me agrees wholeheartedly with this statement :wenger:

Thankfully, we have moved on.

And I'm sure in Saudi Arabia they would argue that England was crazy for allowing alcohol. Anything else would result in 100 lashes.

Yeah, their country has done some bad stuff. We could say that about any country.

I’d say most would agree that Trump has done some bad things that led to the deaths of innocent people. The Glazers donated to, and hosted fundraiser parties for, his campaign.

Like I said, when you get into the realm of the massively wealthy and powerful, you don’t end up with folks whose hands are clean.
But we are not owned by Trump. These people are in charge of the country. It's not that their country did some bad stuff. They did it.

So you are ok with rich Saudi businessmen who donate large sums of money to the people running Saudi, becoming our owners

So, you actually want people to spend time debating with you whether people who don't own Man Utd, are better or worse than your actual owners...?

That's what you want to do with your time?

Tbf homosexuality was only made legal in the UK in 1967. Yes we have moved on. One day Saudi Arabia will too.

We need a poll on this see what the peoples overall thoughts would be.

I don't think caring about very basic morals makes someone a SJW?

This is a country where the judiciary have people crucified for political dissent. Literally.
Mind you it would make for good half time entertainment.

I keep dreaming of a Beckham-led consortium.

I’m also dreaming of a white Christmas too...

Christ, people are making stupid analogies. The USA does not own a team. England does not own a team. The Glazers live in the USA - they don't run the country or dictate it's foreign policy. The Saudis on the other hand, run the country and are directly responsible for the objectionable things done there.

What has someones beliefs/religion got to do with ploughing money into and running a club/business. Cant imagine the life you would live if you applied that to every everything in your life

So if a group of nazis took over your local pub and banned any black people or foreigners, do you have the same philosophy of "well, their beliefs have nothing to do with me enjoying a pint."

Applied what exactly? Because people have an issue with the Al Saudi, the family that order murders in embassies.

I was going to point out that this was not a poster "banning dabbing" it is talking about the dangers of the proliferation of synthetic marijuana. To summarise:

it's about marijuana and how its use is spread using social media and instructional videos on youtube etc. Talking about a new craze called 'The dab' where concentrated forms of weed are inhaled. And is addictive as opposed to organic/normal Marujana that does not cause schizophrenia unlike the synthetic stuff.

It has nothing to do with the dance move we know as the "dab" just a satirical use of the image.

Anyway I decided against saying anything to them because it would not make a difference in my experience.

:wenger: And people actually try to defend this behaviour as a different culture.

Reminds me of my Iranian friend trying to justify why women couldn’t watch football at the national stadium, then realising half way through there was literally no reason.

Go enjoy a pint somewhere else, thats what Id do.
