Lovely team they've got. A joy to watch when in form. I'd love them to get the 4th place ahead of the scousers. They do need to get a player or two in January though. A striker at least. Think they'll return for Berahino?
Not as big a draw compared to Spurs? Really?
Mounting a half-decent title challenge would pretty much mean that Spurs finish in the top 4, so providing another shot at the CL next season. In those circumstances it's highly unlikely that Pochettino would leave Spurs and abandon the chance to go further with the same group of young players. The world does not revolve around Man. U.
Based on what exactly?
This is one of the funniest things I've read on here. And the dumbest too. Pochettino would jump at the chance to manage United.
Based on what exactly?
While all of those things are true, none of them proves that Pochettino would jump at the chance to manage United. Some managers prefer to finish the project they started, for example, and his project at Spurs is certainly looking good this year. Do you think Klopp would automatically go to United if he's offered the chance next summer (rivalry aside)? I don't think so.Being Serious? Based on anyone in PL football with ambition and the knowledge that the club have everything in place to match that ambition better than any other club from biggest stadium to biggest transfer spend to biggest media exposure...
Yeah God Pochettino is clearly a manager who likes to finish the projects he starts. While all of those things are true, none of them proves that Pochettino would jump at the chance to manage United. Not necessarily, he had reached his ceiling at Southampton (and all of his best players left) whereas that's definitely not the case at Spurs. I'm not saying he wouldn't take the United job if it was offered to him, but saying he would jump at the chance to manage United without any evidence is equally as bold as saying he'd rather stay at Spurs for a few more years.I think the slight flaw in your argument is that Pochettino has already jumped from his Southampton project for Spurs.

And the slight flaw in your response is that S'hampton don't offer CL football, whilst Spurs would in the hypothetical situation under discussion.
I say again, if Spurs qualify for the CL then I'm quite sure that Poch would choose - in preference to a job offer from United - to stay with the same group of developing young players and see how far he can take them.
Some posters on here spout off as if pretty much all other clubs are poverty-stricken minnows in comparison to United, deluded in their belief that all players and managers are desperate to come to Manchester. Meanwhile, back in the real world ...
It's a bit silly to say that Pochettino would stay on purely because he gets to further 'develop a young squad', as the only real difference in this perspective between the Southampton Pochettino left and this hypothetical top four Spurs would be Champions League football.Based on what exactly?

I highly doubt that.Let's be honest here, this is your best chance to snatch top 4. Sunday is a genuinely big game for Spurs, lose and they let Chelsea back into it, win and you'll be waving them bye bye.
Interesting to see if Spurs can stop being..... spurs and take advantage of the situation they find themselves in.

See post #134.Did he wait to finish the project he started at Southampton?

Again I told you this the other day that Spurs look good to qualify for the Cl this season but the manager talk is about summer of 2017 when LVG's contract runs out. There is nothing to suggest right now that Spurs would be in the Cl again considering that Chelsea will have had a chance to get back in and even Liverpool would have had a full season under Klopp. Again in your bullshit about how the world doesn't revolve around Manchester United you end up underestimating the club and anyway it's not just about United I would say the same for the City or Chelsea job. In your hypothetical world Spurs are a huge club but that isn't the case in the real world.

"midtable fans"? Really?Because the premier league is competitive, United, Arsenal, City and Chelsea are in a strong position financially that means a team like Chelsea or United can miss out on top four yet come back much stronger the next season. They also seem to be sensible when it comes to transfers, unlike Liverpool's business, which has been horrible and turned them into a midtable club, with midtable players and midtable fans.
He is limited by what he can at Spurs so I find it hard to believe he would say no to succeeding Louis van Gaal if the club offered him the position considering he'd be challenging on all fronts with United.

Not really true. If Spurs lose, Chelsea will still, with goal difference, be effectively 8 points behind Spurs.
It would be such a Spurs thing to do to miss out on top 4 in a season like this.

Joint 2nd highest scorers
Least goals conceded
They're not too bad are they?
