The treatment on here of Marcus Rashford

I don't mind Marcus but it is frustrating how much time he spends on the floor.

Even stuff that's not a foul he goes down moaning.

His current lack of movement and workrate is a problem though unfortunately.

“Current lack of movement"

Well done.

Pretty sure your next post is gonna be how one time doesn't make you wrong, well it was a bad criticism in the first place.

I'm just fed up with how bad he is.

Game after game...goal after goal. It's simply not good enough.

He has become a bit of a diva that's true.

But i don't mind if he keeps producing:)
Bit of a typical Rashford 20/21 performance this half. Wasteful and a bit frustrating, but comes up with the big moment.

Such an exciting player! And there obviously even is room for improvement.

His current lack of movement and workrate is a problem though unfortunately.

Playing with an injury, at least one. Needs surgery in the summer and has had knocks of late. Looks like he needs a rest but at least once that half his pressing caused an error that directly led to an attack for united.

And he scored a goal.

Not too shabby.

First player to score 20 goals in back to back seasons since Rooney

He gets the feck kicked out of him on a regular basis. Ridiculous refereeing tonight. Three United players booked and not even a foul for the nastiest challenge of the night (Kenedy on Rashford)

Poor movement too.

good movement for the goal. That doesn’t make his movement in other games any better. Happy for him. Hopefully he keeps it up. I love how jumped straight on my post with the first bit of decent movement and play all game. Same dribbling and overplaying as usual. You also realise that Rashford is probably taking home more than the whole Granada team combined. Just for context

People place him on a pedestal, so for sure he’ll get criticism from both end of the spectrum more than other players

The man is a superstar. Could hit 30 goals if he hits form this season

You okay pal? You actually seem to be angry about him scoring.

he won't do it this season, had a great chance last season before the back injury. in fact I'm positive he'd of done it last season if not for that injury

Only had a quick skim of this topic, but I haven't seen anything from that chap who was recently filling every Rashford topic on here with his wholehearted belief that no top 7 club in any top league in Europe would want to sign this next incarnation of Welbeck, Cleverley and Lingard.

Anyone remember who that was? Wouldn't mind tagging them to hear an updated take.

I wasn't just on about tonight. There's plenty of instances in matches where he doesn't get a decision, right or wrong and whinges like feck about it.

He is NOT a regular starter playing for Real, Barca, Juve, Bayern, City and PSG. At best he is a rotation player. Don't delude yourselves people.

And that's not to say he is a bad player, he is just not polished enough to start for clubs mentioned above. We have been comfortably a tier or two below these clubs since fergie left. In expectations as well as performance.

Baffling you think so. All the players mentioned below are regular starters.

Real Madrid's top scorer outside of Benzema is Casemiro, Asensio and Vinicius, all with 6.

He can't really be compared to Casemiro, but is head and shoulders above the others. (Similar to Vinicius in frustration levels, but further along)

Barcelona
(Not including Messi) have Griezzmann and Dembele with 14 and 11 respectively. Ask any Barca fan if they'd prefer Rashford there.

Juventus (Not including Ronaldo) have Morata on 16, and Chiesa on 12. He's better than both.

Bayern (Not including Lewa) have Muller as their top scorer with 10. They are literally crying for a Rashford type player.

Man City don't really play in the same way, but no player has scored as many as Rashford for them. That said, Jesus and Mahrez have 60 starts between them, and Ferran Torres and Bernardo have another 50. I'm sure he'd be started regularly.

PSG's top scorer outside of Mbappe is Moise Kean, who has almost 30 starts. Sarabia and Draxler have 25 between them. Rashford would start the majority of games and certainly the important ones.

His last bit of play before the sub was world class :wenger: tries to dribble through everyone and gets cleaned, again. Nice goal though. Same as Sunday just an ok performance. Gets his goal, super goal! He’s the least of our worries but he seriously needs to mix it up when he gets on the ball. I don’t know how even his biggest fans can’t see that? Do you guys think it’s productive to get the ball and dribble into a crowd at every opportunity? @KM what do you think pal?

Let's kill this argument. Tonights game is not a marker for how good or bad Rashford is. Fecking criminal putting him out on the pitch. Should never have started the game. Studied his movement especially because I started this thread. Yes he scored. Otherwise he was a passenger due to being played with injury.

Here's an exhaustive list of players who have scored and assisted more goals over the last two seasons in the top 5 leagues, the associated domestic cups and European competitions:
  • Lewandowski - 114
  • Messi - 100
  • Mbappé - 89
  • Ronaldo - 80
  • Lukaku - 75
  • Müller - 72
  • Immobile - 71
  • Haaland* - 71
  • Kane - 69
  • Werner - 68
  • Sancho - 68
  • Benzema - 68
  • Salah - 67
  • Rashford - 66
  • Bruno* - 66
  • Sterling - 65
* Domestic goals scored in Austria and Portugal are not included
Updated!

Don’t understand the hate for Rashford, he’s frustrating but so was Ronaldo for his first three seasons although I’m not saying Rashford will replicate Ronaldo.

It’s been a long time since someone scored 20 goals in consecutive seasons for us and Rashford has done it despite a major injury last season and playing through injuries this season too, he’s not been at his best this season yet has hit 20 goals in a season where none of our forwards have double figures.

Selfishly I would like Rashford to not play in the Euro’s so he can have a whole summer off and be fully fit next season as I think a fully fit Rashford can score 30 goals next season and at least 25 goals, having Sancho on the right would help as we’re only a danger from the left.

I dunno, he has 2 in 2 now. A good run of form of 10 in 12 gets him there. Hes our only goalscorer up front now so if we see out the season he has to be scoring

Good. We should complain about games like tonight when we get the feck kicked out of us and somehow we're the ones who concede all the free kicks and get all the yellow cards.

It's not a coincidence that Rashford and Bruno are doing all the moaning. They're both knackered, probably carrying injuries and getting kicked to shit game after game. I'd be 'whinging' too.

32nd goal contribution tonight. 20 goals. 12 assists.

Our fans who slate him every week are bed wetters.

A lot of comments here on both sides missing the point. He has often been poor, but he's clearly playing through injury. In that context, it's a wonder he's contributing at all. I'm quietly hoping he gives the Euro's a miss so hes fresh for next season.

Rashford has been poor but he's never been a technical genius, he plays on instinct. A top coach would have helped him a lot but what he really needs is a good rest.

I am worried he'll be done by 25 at this rate to save our 'legend's' job.

Haha why is everyone a medical expert when Europa League comes around

Playing thru his injury is a different issue. Yes if he is injured he should not be playing. It was a very good goal but he is poor otherwise. Time and again he tries to take on three or four players and lose possession. It simply is not good enough. Just because others are worse doesn't mean he is good.
