It's easy to be like that when it doesn't effect you personally. I have a feeling many will change their tunes as soon as it gets closer to home. I hate to say it, but maybe Trump, Ryan and McConnell are exactly what is needed in the USA for people to wake up and realise that maybe the majority of the western world is right and that some form of Universal Healthcare isn't such a bad idea after all.

You're giving the American electorate way too much credit. Obama gave them access to healthcare and they still hated the guy. They'd vote GOP until they die simply because they think queers are an abomination and Democrats rally illegals to vote. All while their GOP congressmen take away the same healthcare Obama fought to get for their families.
They choose not to. It's a complicated issue yes but we're not talking about the electorates ability to understand healthcare legislation. We're talking about the fact that you can actively vote against your own interests in a simple decision...One party would like to give you better access to it and the other is hell bent on making sure you can't afford it. How is that a complicated issue to vote on?
