Thomas Tuchel | Gone to & from Bayern (In Summer)

Even if we were to spend very modestly this coming summer we should enter next season considerably stronger than we have been for much of this one. Chilwell and James returning to full fitness alone makes a gigantic difference. They were our two most dangerous attacking threats up until Chilly’s injury. Bringing back Gallagher and Broja from their loans really improves our squad without spending a penny.

But it really is imperative that Rüdiger stays. Losing him would be disastrous. Christensen I’ll be happy to see the back of.

There's uncertainty and no-one knows what the future holds, but it's safe to say your take on any situation at a club that isn't United can be taken with a pinch of salt because you always come across as someone who's enjoys indulging in worst case scenarios and putting the most negative spin you can find on any given situation.

I think people who believe that are going to be very disappointed after the sale is complete. Chelsea has been through darker times than this. We have a solid team that can be improved by just bringing back a few loaned players that were slotted to be in the first team next year before all this happened. Depending on the buyer, we can come out of this stronger in a year or so. I am just not seeing all the doom and gloom. It is just a transition period.

This doesn’t make sense. Literally every step of this process has been Chelsea fans telling me it isn’t that bad and..shock horror, it gets worse and worse.
Chelsea literally leaked reports of them not wanting to become a periah club and not wanting to sell to another questionable owner.
How else do I analyse these Saudi reports? Do I go back and pretend Roman can’t be sanctioned because he has Portuguese citizenship? Am I missing all the Tuchel quotes about staying on after this season?
Where have I been overly gloomily with Chelsea situation? Enlighten me

He's right, you're very biased and it is difficult to discuss the situation of other clubs than United with you. It's probably even more difficult to discuss United with you, to be precise ;) Some would call that loyalty. I think you can be loyal but still comparably objective.

That doesn't mean that you can't be right though. But as he says, one has to take your opinion with a grain of salt.
 
Are chelsea going to be bought by the Saudis? I haven't heard that. And why would they own two clubs?

I don't think it's likely that you come out of this stronger, but I do think it will be a few years before any kind of noticeable decline appears. Unless you get bought by an oil state, which I think is unlikely because this sale is highly visible and the PL/Govt know that, then revenues will decrease and there's no way that this won't have an impact, but not for a while.
 
Why all this talk about Tuchel anyway? According to TM he has a contract until 2024 and I assume the last thing Chelsea, no matter who buys them, would do is let him join a fellow top four hopeful such as United.

One thing is a definite, things will change. We just don't know what that change will be,

Carragher wrote a piece in the Telegraph telling United to take advantage of the uncertainty and poach Tuchel and it's been a part of the rumour circulation ever since.

In football any thing can happen. But tuchel is intelligent enough to keep himself away from United at present condition.Need another 200 mn minimum investment to the squad to be competitive.

May be he will stick around one more season at chelsea to analyse new owners and their intentions then make the call.Juventus may be his next club if he wanted to go. They are struggling in Europe and Tuchel is fantastic in that competition.

You are talking about the club that fired Jose (1st time) and prevented him from managing another club in England. Regardless, at this moment in time his message is clear, he is happy, settled and unless there’s a drastic change he doesn’t see himself leaving.

The UK media are just trying to negatively spin his words each and every time the man speaks. “Tuchel future uncertain” “Tuchel criticises club”. If you read or listen to his interviews then you’ll know it’s not the case.
 
Can't help but notice that the people spelling doom and gloom and imminent collapse, aren't actually the Chelsea fans. Speaking for myself it really doesn't seem like the end of the world at all (and I remember us being a whisker away from bankrupcy once upon a time). Ultimately we're a hugely successful modern club with a great manager, some top, top players and according to most press reports we have potential buyers lining up out the door for the chance to buy us. Including several groups led by rich lifelong Chelsea supporters.

Sure all the chaos isn't great, but it hasn't done us any harm at all on the pitch so far, in fact we've become more reliable if anything. Seems like the most likely outcome by far is that someone will buy us within the next month, back the team well financially in the next window to win over the fans, and life will go on pretty nicely. We might not have quite the financial comfort we had under Roman, but I really don't see any big disaster scenario ahead at the moment.

Perhaps, perhaps not. The reality is that over the last 20 years Chelsea have been able to spend everything they earned PLUS another £1.5bn on top. It's helped you climb the ladder without doubt, but you probably won't need that kind of investment to stay competitive. The concern is where the money comes from to buy the club, and also down the line where it comes from to rebuild the stadium. There's a real risk of the club being leveraged over that period, and we've all seen how much that hurt a revenue monster in United. This has a better chance of turning out bad than it does of being no big deal.

Most of the Roman input (not all, but the bulk) came in the first 10 years when he was transforming the club into one that could compete at the highest levels. Since then we really haven't been spending that must differently to the other top clubs in the league. Sure we could end up with the same issues United faced with their owners, but then again you guys have spent a fortune in that time on players too. Ultimately who knows how it will turn out, anythings possible, but at least at the moment there's nothing keeping me up at nights.
 
No coming back from losing 4-1 to a promoted team.
 
Having not followed the match, I can’t wait to watch MOTD to find out how that scoreline happens.

It is quite possible that both Ten Hag and Tuchel might be available. I hope the club would consider Tuchel over Ten Hag.
