Top 4 race 2016/17

Middlesbrough A (W)
West Brom H (W)
Everton H (W)
Sunderland A (W)
Chelsea H (D/L)
Burnley A (W)
Swansea H (W)
Arsenal A (W)
Tottenham A (D/L)
Crystal Palace H (W)

That's how I see it.

Font is working properly, but I think we'll win every game bar Chelsea (D/L) and Spurs (D/L).

You weren't losing though, no coincidence you weren't playing well without him and started winning when he started scoring.
Harry Kane would have turned a few of those draws into wins now.
I just had a look at your fixtures, away to a battling and improving Swansea and Hull, away to West Ham and Burnley, playing Southampton, United and Arsenal.
Those fixtures aren't easy even with Kane in the side.

Nobody's fixtures are easy, injuries are part and parcel.

Anyway he's a one season wonder, so no need to panic just yet.

Spurs would miss Eriksen more than Kane. They won't struggle for goals in his absence, today being a prime example.

Yeah, the Spurs and United fans doing a 180 on Kane now is going to be fun to watch.

Haha, you're probably right!

Already the Kane is one dimensional, wouldn't want him etc brigade are clinging to him possibly being out long term.

Whilst we will be saying, it's all fine.

Although it looked similar to last time in the slow-mo it also seems different. This time he wasn't showing a great deal of pain and he walked away without even too much of a limp.

Fingers crossed this could be a sprain without ligament damage or a straight forward twist.

That's definitely the hope. We've had rotten luck with injures this season, I hope for a bit of good news this time.

I've created a random chat thread. Anyone else caught derailing this one with boring, off topic walls of text will be thread banned without warning.

In-spite of City being on song, Pool holding out ugly for a win at home, Arsenal out of Europe and therefore can focus on League, I still get the feeling Jose will get us that 4th spot. May be only just but I feel we will be in the top 4 this season.

City, Arsenal and Liverpool results over the next 2 games could hopefully start to make the top 4 positions clearer over the next few weeks, with City playing those 2 then points are going to be dropped and I think it will probably define where United are going to finish too, I'd think if United are outside the top 4 after the next 3 rounds then they're not getting in.

praying out for max points dropped in those (4 vs 3)

Shame Utd are out of the FA cup, I would have preferred some more congestion. At least the other three clubs still have their hands full. Don't get knocked out by Rostov ffs.

This 'more games' thing is a load of crap. If you've got a good squad you will handle loads of competitions.

You lot got knocked out of everything but still look awful.

I don't think we will get top 4 because I don't think we are good enough. Having a few more matches hasn't got anything to do with it.

If we hadn't got knocked out we'd be 8th place by now.

Edit: we don't have a good squad that's clear. Utd don't have a great one either which is why I want your first teamers knackered.

You don't know that though. It's small time throwing away the chances of silverware just to hope for this 'top 4' rubbish. Arsenal invented it. You will finish 4th and still probably buy more Klavans and Winaldis.

Trophies trophies trophies is what it's about.

Yeah. They will take some valuable points in our favor and drop a few too. I suspect Liverpool's run against the top 6 is coming to a halt even though they generally do well against City.
We also usually do well against City as well. I hope City drop points at this point, knowing their next 3 tough games.

Has Wenger lost a home game to Guardiola? If memory serves me right he hasn't against Barcelona and Bayern so playing City is a much easier proposition.

We beat both Barca and Bayern at home.

I remember the Barca game. Young Wilshere ran the show and has been living off that game since :D

I think Arsenal will not just beat City but I've a feeling you'll dish a hammering on them. The speed and movement of Sanchez - Welbeck - Walcott will cause their dodgy defence and slow midfield a lot of problems.

A singular victory that your lot haven't achieved in quite a while.
Last night gave me confidence for the remainder of the season. That formation needs an Ibra up top for it to work, to hold the ball up instead of having Rashford run into space that wasn't there.
We'll definitely utilise it for City and Spurs away

It should, you guys were better last night than a lot of Utd fans seem to be giving you credit for. You had us on the back foot for the first 15 and even when you went down to 10 you still posed a real challenge.

I wouldn't call it us being on back foot. We were more of less toe to toe in the first 15-20 mins. Then Chelsea had started pushing United back for for about 15-20 mins before the red card.

We spent at least the first 10 minutes in and around our own 18 yard box.

The game I saw was advantage Chelsea even before the red, if it wasn't for two absolute fantastic saves by DeGea Chelsea would be in the lead.

I thought the saves were brilliant, specially off Hazard. Can't blame him for Kante's goal, he was setting himself up to a non-shooter but got caught with a surprisingly good shot. Young and Valencia did well to keep Alonso and Moses relatively quiet but ultimately, when the game ended, I completely forgot who the Chelsea goalie was. It was Courtois.

Yeah, but no real chances were created, and although United did pressure high up the pitch I didn't see any real chances, and Chelsea seemed comfortable enough. Not the first time I've seen Chelsea sit back a little and take advantage of transitions and counterattacks. Possession doesn't mean much when the other team creates the better chances.

We weren't backs to the wall fighting for our lives, but it was still a strong positive start from United. If I was a Utd fan I wouldn't see that match as a big negative.

Agree, by advantage I don't mean 'domination', wasn't a lot in it, but Chelsea created the better chances, and that's what counts in my mind. Still, was a decent start from United imo, and I was sad when Hererra got the red, annoying to watch football as a neutral when a red card comes out.

Anyway, to get this back on track for the top 4 race, very important win for Liverpool, although they didn't really impress against a Burnley team that have struggled recently. Not sure what the game against Chelsea says about Uniteds chances for a top 4 finish, but they really need to get into the top 4 soon considering their last few fixtures.

If Welbeck is not injured and especially if Coquelin and Xhaka doesn't play together.

Good luck with that one.
BTW we have just gone 6 away games without conceding.
