Parker is not remotely similar to Keane in the way he plays.

This is something that annoys me on this forum; whats there to laugh at? The similarities are there which he/she has stated and not once did the poster say they were of the same quality. If he did, then that would be laughable.
SPURS LINE UP: friedel, irwin,king,dawson,ekotto,beckham,keane,scholes,giggs,defoe, yorke.
It really is a baffling post. The only Spurs player that is remotely similar to the United treble counterpart is Modric. The other comparisons are just shocking. Lennon to Beckham, Bale to Giggs, and Scott fecking Parker to Roy Keane.

It's funny, because the comparison is very far off, and they really aren't similar to the treble team at all. Also because rcoobc isn't an idiot and it was made in earnest, makes it...funny!
i just dont understand the comparison at all. if theyre not of the same quality or style then why compare,why not compare stoke to the 99 team,after all they had players in the same postition

Yeah, but it's also not very informative to put players next to each other because they play the same position and say they're similar for that reason. Ultimately he was saying they have similar qualities, that Parker reminded him of Keane, which is a bit strange.
If you are drawing comparisons to such a high standard, you are making a statement that the quality is somewhat similar.

It seems as if players aren't carbon copies, they cant be compared on here. A young, flying welsh left winger, a dictator of the midfield alongside the driving force or 'enforcer' if you like, with an English right-sided midfielder...Nope. No familiarity there.

Would you say any of these players are 'very similar' to them on their own right? No. Was Lennon similar to Beckham in any sense? Yes, they were footballers. It ends around there.
Of course players get compared on here, there's about a thousands threads a weak comparing every current footballer to one of our own after each match, but when the comparisons don't make sense, there will be a different reaction.

Good line up for us though I would have rafael for Jones. I don't think people need to worry about us being overwhelmed in the middle. Rooney typically drops behind welbeck which will overcome any extra numbers they have in the middle.
