Tottenham Hotspur vs. Manchester United

Carrick and Young put in a decent shift in front of the next England manager. Jones not so much.

The stats accurately reflect United's inability to hold any sort of possession for most the match. What isn't reflected is the torrid time our FB's had with Spurs' wing play. This is/was a poor performance by United but experience and perseverance with some good finishing has been enough.

Its that 'experience and perseverance' that is hardwired into our DNA that allows to go into auto pilot, even when not playing well to win games such as these.

Its a quality that Manchester Shitty do not possess. Im banking on that being the difference come squeaky bum time in 5 weeks time to give us no 20.

well .... spurs 16 shots vs our 6

Spurs 58% possession vs our 42%

Spurs 6 corners vs our 3.

I cant see the match, but looking at those stats, how the hell are we winning 0-3?!

I guess all 16 of Spurs shots were crap and three of ours ended up in the back of the net. ;)

The shots stats is rubbish because it applies to every attempt on goal no matter how lame. Spurs have not really tested the goal keeper much.

3-1, Defoe.

Spurs were better than us till the game was in the balance.. but stats are misleading.
We werent hanging on for that period. Just not playing well. They were winning the ball more and having pops at goal. 1 very good save for De Gea and one which shouldve been a goal, but saha hit Ade who handballed it.
We scored against the run of play and killed it off.

But we Spurs, for all their dominance, didnt threaten us enough.

3-1 now
Booooooooooooooooooooooooo

How predictable.
