Tottenham Hotspur vs. Manchester United

Mike Riley, the general manager of the Professional Game Match Officials, told PremierLeague.com: "There are two main considerations to make when conducting a pitch inspection: player safety and the match as a spectacle.

"A referee has to consider whether the playing conditions threaten the well-being of the players and whether they compromise the match as a spectacle for the fans."

...

so I suppose the ref goes out and bounces the ball a bit...kicks it a bit to see if it rolls along enough etc...bit like that farcical proceedure the ref did in that postponed England match recently...

That was one of the most ridiculous sights ever.

If postponed can't we play it on Tuesday/Wednesday this week? Anything after that is going to be a big inconvenience.

"whether they compromise the match as a spectacle for the fans"

...is ridiculous. How many fans, having travelled down from Manchester, would now rather watch the view from the train back, instead of a football match with a bit of snow around?

No the English league never works like that. It will be a month or more away.

In Spain if a game fails to go ahead they generally try again the next day.

#MUFC kitman Albert just walked off the #THFC pitch and said: 'No danger, let's get it fecking going.' That's the spirit!

Well, they've opened up the turnstiles, which is a hopeful sign. But still no guarantee it won't be called off.

Yet it says 2:23 on the clock?

Haha fair enough, I guess the snow fall doesn't show up on the photo properly. I personally think it will still go on anyway, even with the heavy snow fall around here.

Are they sure that's Albert the kitman and not Albert the hitman, United's trained assassin?
