Tottenham Hotspur vs. Manchester United

Good half of football.

SAF got the starting XI and tactic spot on.

Would like us to come out storming, get an early 2nd goal and then get some subs on to finish the game off.

Good half. Very well taken goal and we've defended quite well and kept our shape denying Spurs too much room to attack.

Two very good stops from DDG.

Great half. Solid defensively and our link up play has been very good as well, epecially from Welbeck, Kagawa and Clev. If only Welbeck's decision making would be better

played well, compact, pressing well, defending well. As ever, they need the second though.

Who would you rather bring on instead of Kagawa after 65-70 min (as he's not usually playing the full game)

Anderson or Rooney?

Good half from us at Very White Hart Lane.
Lovely, well-worked goal too.

Good half. Keep at it. They'll mount the pressure so hopefully we can get a good counter going and put this one to bed early on.

welbeck is excellent outside the box. his link up play, movement is class. just need to be more compose near the box.

I wish Welbeck cut the ball back to Kagawa at that move near the end where Danny and Evra raped Spurs' entire right-hand side.

Not a bad half overall: we need to show some more cutting edge when we get near Spurs's goal. The defending has been reasonably good, here's hoping we don't turn total shite in the second half as we so frequently do.

Carrick's having a really good game imho and Kagawa's little touches and flicks and passes keep impressing me and keeping many attacks alive. He really can play himself out of any tight corner.

Not bad at all. We took a little while to get going but Spurs haven't been allowed to gather momentum at all. We scored at a great time, now we just need to keep pushing for more. Eventually Welbeck is gonna create/score for us. He's finding space and he just needs to capitalise on it.

Carrick, Kagawa and Cleverley and Jones have been very good in their roles.

Have to laugh at all the stupid slogans plastered round Shite Hart Lane. "Dare to Do" or some crap. Must be that cnut Levy's idea of motivating the fans.

Welbeck has been brilliant for us, if he can find his scoring boots at some point in his career he'll be world class.

Kagawa has done well and our midfield has generally been solid. It seems like Ferguson has made the right choice with Jones, he prevents Spurs from doing anything in the middle.

Good half from us to be honest. I had my doubts with the line up but it's clear to see what the game plan is. Still think we need 1 more goal to win it, I can see spurs scoring in the second half.

Have to say we've used jones well today, not seen him do this role for us yet and this is what I've wanted from him when he plays on the middle.

I think if the players can pick their passing up, which is admittedly tough given the snow, but if they can we could get another goal to just give us some breathing room.

Great first half.

Spurs look very vulnerable when we go forward. I can see us scoring another two goals.

Nice to have such great subs on the bench. Would like to see Ando and Rooney come on eventually.

Very good first half, compact when they have the ball and some crisp passing when we have it, Welbeck is causing them a lot of trouble when he runs at them and Kagawa and RVP are making intelligent runs, our goal was a beaut!

The gameplan is working so far. Clearly Fergie has set us out to crowd out the left wing and afford bale no room to work in. Obviously, this leaves lennon and evra one on one if cleverley doesn't recover in time and as usual, lennon is giving evra a torrid time.

However, a very well taken goal by RVP and brilliant cross by Cleverley. Clearly he can whip them in from the right side but sadly he never plays on the right side of the pitch with Carrick, Welbeck, Valencia etc. all ahead of him.

Some real good pockets of passing and alot of it stemming from Kagawa (who the announcer can't pronounce to save his life). Danny Welbeck really has world class pace but there were two times where he got behind walker on the left wing and failed to put in a good cross or cutback to Kagawa. I guess its asking too much for him to have the final product considering not even Ronaldo had it at the same age.

I think Jones and Carrick have been superb this half. Both have shielded the back four brilliantly and kept their threats to a minimum. I wonder if we will see Rooney come on for Kagawa in the second half though, if not just to throw on fresh legs. Wouldn't be surprised to see Valencia for Welbeck too.

If Welbeck had any sort of composure in the box at all, we'd be 2-0 by now. Anyway it's been a good half from us and Jones has been brilliant! Wins everything in the air and has helped double up on Bale.

I'm worried about Lennon though. He's causing us trouble and with Evra already on a yellow, it's not going to get any easier.

Welbeck's been superb in the build-up once again, he'll be some player once the decision making improves. Good, solid and composed performance. I'm only unsure about Evra ATM, Lennon is causing him lots of problems and he is on a yellow now.
Get a second and we should be out of sight. Spurs are not very good today.

Jones been helping out Rafael with Bale most game. Done well too imo.

I think Jones has done quite well defensively which is why he's probably starting ahead of Ando.

I somewhat disagree. He's helping out our fullbacks. There's a reason Bale is drifting. Jones is doing well next to Carrick.

And so has Bale and Dembele coincidence I think not. The boys been very effective in there.

Jones has been very good in the air and overall defensively.

Good first half nonetheless with some fine moves just lacking a finish and end product.

I got that one wrong then  I stand corrected!

Worth sacrificing some flair to ensure a clean sheet, which as you point out is why SAF chose him ahead of Anderson.

And he has helped get the job done in first half.

Worried about Evra on Lennon, already booked and he will fancy his chances against him now.
