Tottenham Hotspur vs. Manchester United

No, I have a brother who supports Notts. Forest for complicated reasons of no interest to you.

Had the game lasted another 5 mins Spurs would probably have won ... you were rocking like a baby in a cradle. De Gea saved you a point.

I know you are a Spurs fan, and don't see much in the way of fantasic attacking displays, but if you call getting a point from a scrappy goal at home in added time "rocking" a team then I feel sorry for you.

Stop being a twat and enjoy your deserved point instead of wumming on here.

If the game ended on the 90th minute we'd have won.
If Van Persie scored 10 we would have won
If Rooney got the penalty we would have won

if we don't win the CL, I hope your lot takes fourth only for arsenal to win the CL thereby fecking you lot over again.

Shame Defoe is shit and you (like most spuds) only chirp up when you're winning, which to fan of an also-ran club, I can see why you think that's a win. You'll be back to booing next week.

A bit Hammer-ish I must say

Good game and probably a fair result in the end.

We are so wasteful it is unbelievable. That match just showed the humungous difference between having someone like RVP and Defoe upfront. 18 shots on target, some of them very good chances and we score 1, RVP puts it away from one of your 2.

It's not a case of wastefulness. Defoe is a very clinical striker IN THE BOX. You need AVB to tell him to give the ball out wide and get in the box, rather than shooting at every opportunity.

You barely managed to get a draw, though you once said that it's possible that you finish ahead of us this season and that United may fall out of top 4.

All in all disappointed to concede so late, but hard to argue that spurs don't deserve the same manner of credit we apply to ourselves when we score late on.

The irony is we probably deserved more from today's performance than we did against the dippers, yet we end up with 2 points less!

Happy enough with the way the team defended overall, far better than we were a couple of months back. We needed to significantly improve our defending, and we have looked far more solid and organised during the past few games. 4 points from Liverpool at home and spurs away, is a pretty good return.

So despite the obvious disappointment of dropping 2 points so late in the game, i think we are improving as the season progresses, which is surely what we would have hoped for.

Should have put Anderson on for Clev instead of Valencia IMO. Valencia was generally good defensively although he may have to take his share of blame for the goal. We just lost control of the midfield completely once Cleverley went off.

Valencia was decent he hesitated at the goal but DDG should have dealt with it period. Spurs came at us last 20 and was to be expected. Did the subs really contribute to this? I don't think so. Think Spurs turned up the heat we just about coped and just stumbled at the end, no shame there I thought we were good as a team today. RVP for me didn't get enough support although Kagawa and Danny played well. Lots of pluses though Rafael, Jones, Danny and DDG being the big ones and there all youthful and will all hopefully continue to improve and that's going to be some sight. Gutted as it feels like a loss but to me that was good today against the strongest Spurs team in a long time.

Fergie is spot on regarding Foy and counter attacks. Can see fireworks when he gets banned and the Kompany think be dragged up now as he has that tucked up his sleave. Siege mentality coming!!

Jones played a very good game today. I didn't see that many things to moan about really. It's a pit Valencia's getting all this stick because I didn't think he did too badly at all. Kagawa's still feeling his way into the ways of the Premiership which must feel like whirlwind football compared to the Bundesliga. Welbeck played some lovely football and Carrick, Rio, and De Gea were excellent. This team is good enough to win the league all right, and maybe the double, but we're not quite good enough to take the European Cup yet.

Said earlier on the Referee (Foy) that hope his usual blunder doesn't cost us well as usual it has. Piss poor referee.

Nah, the one time he was free in the box and actually needed to take a first time shot which is his usual, he took enough touches to allow Ferdinand to come back. And whenever Lennon and Bale were crossing in for him, he wasn't gambling and attacking the balls.

Very very disappointing from him today.

Excellent player. Switch them around and the result would have been very comfortable imo.

Harsh to blame De Gea for the goal, the media are quick to make decisions on new players and will not change their opinions for years regardless of the evidence in front of them. He made 3 or 4 exceptional saves.

Caulker on Rooney was probably a pen but I think if Dempsey had chosen to go down earlier, it would have been a penalty and red for Evra. And as Man utd fans have been telling me for years, these things even themselves out. Apparently. ;)

After reflecting on what I said earlier and after rewatching the gif many times, I don't think Rooney dived, but it wasn't a penalty and it was a 50/50. Caulker showed his strength to outmuscle Rooney in that particular challenge. If Dempsey had gone down, that is a different matter altogether and credit to Dempsey for not going down, otherwise as you stated earlier,a red card for Evra and he would have been missing for a game or so. I think it was a good point at your ground today.

It wasn't a scrappy goal. It was a great pull back from Lennon, who caused you plenty of problems during the game, and good first time hit from Dempsey.

OK, You scored first, but Spurs looked the more dangerous team mostly there after, especially in the 2nd half.

As I've said, if not for De Gea you would likely have lost. You should be happy with the point gained

You're not giving Rio enough credit for a superb piece of defensive play mate. 9 times out of 10, Defoe would have buried that chance.

Now there's a post I can agree with. I'm happy with that point overall, I think it's another tough game out of the way and we still have a good lead going into a decent run of fixtures.

Agree with it all but the European cup is part lottery so disagree with that bit. On a side note AVB is slavering piss his team had more of the ball and shots as United sat in and defended their lead. Does he think if it was 0-0 or 0-1 that would have been the case? Sober up.

Deserved point for Tottenham, has to be said. They went right at us in the second half, and with us being too careless with our chances, it is a fair result.

I thought De Gea, Vidic, Ferdinand, Jones and Carrick were superb; Cleverley and Welbeck full of running and cleverly interchanging passes along with Kagawa, who faded in the latter stages of the game.

I would have taken a point before the game, but still annoyed and disappointed only going away with one.

Don't mind Glaston. He only turns up on here in pre-season, to predict United's imminent demise, and explain why spurs now have all the bestest players in the world and will win the league. He then sporadically appears here and there, depending on Spurs' form of course, up until around February time, when Spurs' 'title challenge' ultimately collapses. We then don't here from him again until pre-season again.

Are you mental? Or did you miss the part where Caulker clips Rooney's leg?

It was a scrappy goal. Rafael cocked it up outside the box and De Gea should have put the ball out instead of punching it to Lennon.

All you did was pump long balls into the box as you couldn't break us down any other way and for all your possession we looked comfortable.

Yep, i agree with that. spurs under AVB are not quite as exciting as under Harry, but they certainly look more resilient. Had that been Harry's Spurs of 12months ago in that type of tight match, i would strongly suspect we may have had more space to exploit, and may well have won more comfortably.

Spurs didn't allow us to create too much whilst still offering a regular threat going forward. Impressive set up from AVB's Spurs side so far in my view.

thought defoe might link up better with Dembele playing in the no 10 spot since hes so shifty around the box.

It was excellent for sure but still frustrating to watch a player who loves shooting at the first opportunity regardless of whether there is a better option or not and regardless of whether there is a player in front on him take extra touches the time when he actually needed to shoot first time!

Sometimes a players reputation does play a role in judging a player. He has had previous and I guess I let it cloud my judgement of the incident in question. It really was one of those decisions that could have gone either way. At the end of the day, as I said, I am happy for the point, and the way they played against us should stand us in good stead against Real Madrid. We really need to have our top guns firing, we need Nani to play the next few games if possible. As for the top red remark, I do apologise for accusing you of being such.

To be fair any team would find it difficult to play on a match without a goalkeeper in nets.
