He received the ball with acres of space ahead of him in midfield and instead of taking the ball forward he just stands there, doing nothing, until Rooney (who played the ball to him in the first place) moves over from the wing to the center and receives the ball from a 3 yard pass. He needs to sort himself out big time, at the moment he's barely good enough to be a squad player. And in a squad with as few and poor midfield options as our, that's extremely damning.

Does this far too often these days. Looks scared. Scared to make a mistake, scared to get blamed if he takes a run and gets dispossessed, just scared. Had massive hopes for him when he broke through. Don't think he's showing the mental strength to grow into the player I'd hoped though.

Considering how easily we're getting down Spurs' left we're not making enough of it. Still a way back if we sort that.

Spurs' water-carrier does something like that. Makes me cry at our midfield.
