Distribution from defence is poor

Cleverly is such a passenger nowadays. There was one moment near the end of the half that summed up his game. He received the ball with acres of space ahead of him in midfield and instead of taking the ball forward he just stands there, doing nothing, until Rooney (who played the ball to him in the first place) moves over from the wing to the center and receives the ball from a 3 yard pass. He needs to sort himself out big time, at the moment he's barely good enough to be a squad player. And in a squad with as few and poor midfield options as our, that's extremely damning.

Anyone debating this issue might as well take up tiddlywinks.

He is there to keep the play ticking, which he is doing. He doesn't has that kinda long range of passing, plus Spurs have crowded the central area, which is why Kagawa has seen less of the ball and we have been passing it to our only winger today in Valencia.

No, he is there to help win the game and wants none of it.

Cleverley doing a full turn and pass it back to a defender

Does this far too often these days. Looks scared. Scared to make a mistake, scared to get blamed if he takes a run and gets dispossessed, just scared. Had massive hopes for him when he broke through. Don't think he's showing the mental strength to grow into the player I'd hoped though.

Just an honest mistake, it's not like they showed a close up of the United bench for 45 minutes.

would've been more entertaining tbf, getting to look at Nani and Hernandez for 45 minutes?

Considering how easily we're getting down Spurs' left we're not making enough of it. Still a way back if we sort that.

No pressure on him at all. Absolute joke.

Spurs' water-carrier does something like that. Makes me cry at our midfield.
