Heinze ahead of Evra because this is an away fixture and white heart lane is a tough plane to go to. We need to be assured defensively. Saha to give up more pace up front.

I think Evra would be more suited to deal with Lennon though.

I like the Tottenham games...

Let`s start our best lineup. Back four with Evra in for Heinze. Midfield four of Ronaldo,Scholes,Carrick and Giggs.

If Saha is back then let him start with Rooney. If else then Larsson will do the job.

Pred: 1-3, Ronaldo, Rooney, Vidic

We always seem to beat spurs away and probably their 3 best players are out (king, berbatov, lennon) so an optomistic 0-2. Rooney to carry on his mini streak and giggsy to chip in as well, with gary neville hurting his big toe in the 5th minute and some fat bloke getting a pie at half time.

Is the fat bloke Alan Green and did you forget to write 100 before pie

I cant believe people still think that Heinze is better defender than Evra. He gets skined a lot and he's not really that good in the air (Chelsea, Reading) while I cant remember the last time Evra cost us a goal.
Not to mention Evra's obviously much better in attack.

IMO we'll play our best team which is with Evra.

If Saha's fit, he should start.

Spurs are missing some players, not sure how important they are though

Strongest possible line-up for this one, whilst White Hart Lane used to be an easy place to visit they've become a stronger outfit in the last couple of years. Scholes and Giggsy had a break mid-week so I would expect a full team. I also think Larsson will start over Saha, because he's in good form, and Saha is struggling both for form and fitness at the moment.
-------------VDS----------
G Nev --- Ferdinand --- Vidic-- Evra
Ronaldo--Scholes--Carrick----Giggs
-----Rooney------Larrson -------

2-1 United

I have a feeling that Park might start this game. Fergie rested Park against Watford, so I won't be surprised if he starts. But what player will start at the bench then? Giggs?
Fergie might save Giggs to the second half, Park was superb against Spurs last season and against Lee.
I think/hope for this team..

Rooney - Larsson
Park - Scholes - Carrick - Ronaldo
Heinze - Vidic - Ferdinand - Neville
VDS

Subs; Kuszczak - Evra - Giggs - Saha - Fletcher/O'Shea

I'm going to go with Park for this one as well, and Giggs and Larsson on the bench. If we need them, we need them. Park's work rate has been second to none and I am excited to see if he can improve.

VDS

Nev Rio Vidic Evra

Park Scholes Carrick Ronaldo

Saha Rooney

Subs: PIG, Heinze, Giggs, Larsson, Ole

Maybe Brown for Ole on the bench? Glad I'm not Fergie.

Giggs and Larsson in for Park and Saha on 65'.

Always a tough game, I think we could use the experience of Larsson up front. Louis has been out for a while and at the best of times his touch is a bit rusty. Not much room for that in a game like this IMO, it will be very tight.

---Neville-----Rio------Vidic------Evra
--Ronaldo----Scholes--Carrick---Giggs
-------------Larsson---Rooney

Evra v. Lennon will be an important dual from a defensive point of view.

agree, just maybe Evra instead of Heinze, he's faster. but, Heinze is better defensively

That's one of my two doubts. The first is Giggs or Park at the left, and the second is Evra or Heinze at left back.
I will be happy if Evra plays, but I would like to start with Heinze and then we have a fresh Evra for the second half if we need an attacking left back.
But if Fergie starts with Evra, and have Heinze on the bench I will be happy as well. Evra's form has been brilliant this season.

Reckon Larsson will getting the starting nod over Saha - better form (hes adjusted unbelievably well) and Saha will be a bit rusty, cant afford to waste any chances. Then if things are going well or we need a change of pace bring Saha on.

Reckon Heinze should start - Tottenham wouldve noticed that both goals against the Arse (spitspitspit) came from the right from a cross - Heinze is taller and i trust him more with his positioning than Evra. Reckon this could be quite a physical game - a bit of old fashioned Argie blood n guts, death or glory is whats needed!!!

United will have a lucky omen on the pitch during Sunday's game.... Mark Clattenburg is the ref.

The last time he took charge of a United/Spurs game he didn't see Pedro Medes shot go over the line. As long as he keeps this sort of officiating up in the game I feel a bit confident of a United result no matter what team we've got out. I keep my fingers crossed that Rob Lewis is running the line and that would just make things even better.

VDS
Neville Rio Vidic Heinze
Ronaldo Scholes Giggs Evra
Rooney Saha

I strange line up I know, but there are several reasons i've gone for it:
- Carrick usually underperforms in tough games like this
- Evra's pace on the left would help us in both attack and defence
- Heinze needs to play to make the defence stronger
- Giggsy can do really well in that central role as we've seen before.

2-2 is my prediction with Vidic and Saha for us.

Larsson must be tired after midweek exertion, so resting him for this match is probably a good idea. Solskjaer on the sub bench because he has a fantastic record of scoring after coming off the bench. He could potentially get us "out of jail".

Evra has played on that position for exactly 5 minutes this season.

Completely disagreed.

Carrick was voted man of the match against Chelsea.

We don't really need two defenders on the left flank.

Giggs and Scholes duo would lack defensive abilities in the middle, they both need someone like Carrick or O'Shea to protect them.

Heinze's presence wouldn't necessarily make our defence stronger, he's been out of form so far and cost us a few goals, and with Lennon's pace it might be misleading.

Not got a good feeling about this match, but really if Newcastle can go there and get 3 and win, and Arsenal's kids scored 2 and should have won, you'd think we have a great chance.

I reckon Larrson will play the first hour, then Saha get a run out in the latter stages to use his pace.

....and that line ups certainly going to happen - considering we're at one of the toughest grounds in england and we've never played those sets of players in that formation but yehhhh, other than that i think its a great idea

saha and rooney upfront... its time for saha to get back his place in the starting 11... larsson can't be always a starter... the man has 35 years... remember we have to play on europe too... saha is a great striker and is more faster and has good vission for pass ... larsson does really well with 20 or 15 minutes to end the game... we need to get saha on fitness is we are to fight for the title

precisely!

the arrival of larsson has given another dimension of fluidity upfront that is very effective - but we must remember he wont be there all season and it will be vital that saha still gets a big run in the team with larsson there as saha relies on games and his fitness? does he not?

Will be a hard fixture for sure but i feel we have some good consistency in our results under our belt and would probably knick it 1 or 2 nil.

Spurs played 120 min of football on Wed, which ended up with a miserable defeat against their bitterest rival. If United don't concede an early goal, it won't be a hard game.

People are overstating Spurs' threat imo. They're a good team and it won't be easy, but we're a better team than them and have much better players in every position. I don't see why we should change our team (playing 2 left backs or playing Park instead of Giggs) for this one, they're there for the taking.

Spurs are shite, we are over-rating them.

1-3. Rooney, Scholes, Ronaldo.

I couldn't care less who scores for them.
