He literally says "back to the good days"
That's just an easy way of saying challenging for titles again, because we used to. He also says "part of the future" and "potential". Just seems like you're trying to confirm something you already think.

This will surely have to involve sales as they haven't got that amount of money to spend after the Bernabeu referb.

The problem lies in the fact that the board and the Management staff are trying to complicate things for no reason. Champions League or No Champions League... we should be targeting the same players and obviously have backups. It's not rocket science. We need to buy players which we should have scouted all throughout the season and should have put in bids or signed pre-contracts like what Chelsea did with Pulisic. Ban or no Ban, they will be getting Pulisic. We always wait for 4 weeks in the transfer window to do any sort of business. This is ridiculous. 6 years in and we are still trying to determine our effective transfer strategy.

We've wasted so many transfer windows over the years... At the very least, the current contract of all our players should have been sorted out during January or at least offloaded the deadwood. Now we'll spend half the summer negotiating contracts for our current players and possibly invest in 2 players or so and then the board expects us to compete for the league with Ass-hley Young, Marcus Rashford, Chris Small-dick and Phil no Co-jones.

When Real says that they will rebuild in the summer, they do stick to their words and get in some real quality players. However, United been rebuilding for 6 years and we still continue to get players and managers who can't make any progress.

I love Ole but it's beginning to feel like it's a script when he talks like he's a "yes sir", this quote was designed to get confidence around the club but for me it just feels like he's just saying the right things...

Yea, he should exclusively say the wrong things from now on. That would be much better.

Well Woodward had told him he was getting Bale, Herrera and Fabregas, so it is a little bit harsh to blame that entire fiasco on dithering Dave. And of course we have seen the same shambles enacted in subsequent summers, when Moyes was obviously no longer around...
I'm not sure Woodward told Moyes he was getting Bale. But it was reported we put in a bid that exceeded a £100m. Herrera was a target but it was reported that Moyes dithered on that deal and couldn't make his mind up.

I never seen Davy Klassen do what Van De Beek can do. He's a modern day footballer with attributes that would help any team. His passing and his movement to get into dangerous positions is second to none

In his last season at Ajax he was a little more productive with goals and assists than De Beek has been this season, which won his move to Everton where he flopped. It's their build and stodgy way of moving too.

:(

Sums up our great moves in the transfer market. Other big clubs are apparently deep in discussions with clubs and agents, end of the season and a player regarded one of the best in the world and we send in the scouts.....we so need to get a woggle on

We might as well send in the girl guides as well, just to be sure.

Good signing but I don't understand how Fernandes replaces Gundogan considering he plays in a similar position to a number 10.

I think we need players who are comfortable playing from deep and bringing it through the midfield like Ndombele, Neves or a Tielemans. Even Rabiot would be a good shout for Herrera replacement.

Be a shame if United miss out on Felix,Fernandes I'm less convinced by even though his numbers this season are excellent.
Feel Felix, along with De Ligt and De Jong, will be one of the biggest stars in the game in a few years time.

As much as don't like them or the way their success has come about through dodgy human rights abusing financial dopers....we can't deny City are smashing us on and off the pitch right now. It's getting embarrassing.

Don't see us clawing it back under Glazers n Woodward either. I think the only way we get back to being the best team in the land again is under new ownership. The current set up knows how to make money but not how to spend it.

I see many a year going by before we lift that league trophy again.

Well apparently we should be looking for the next Messi so this is a must for me.

I don't see us winning it again under the current owners. Without Fergie we've not got within 15pts of the title once in 6 yrs I don't think. Doubt that will change next season either.

They are truly awful Owners. Fergie worked miracles to keep us up there with the amount of cash we've lost paying THEIR debt off.

I can see things coming to a head pretty soon. We're fast becoming the next AC Milan.

100% agree and I feel we will be like Arsenal, 15 years on still waiting. Of course if that happens it happens, most of us went years before seeing us lift the first premier league title and I will happilly go more if the owners and Ed are at least changed with a brand new transfer structure also being introduced...at least just get back to not boring and frustrating the life out of fans.

Are you 8 or what? The state of those nicks..

Why do people constantly take speculation as some kind of official confirmation when it comes to our rivals.

This is the kind of proactive purchasing mentality that keeps you on top. You've got City, a team not in need of much recruitment at all, looking to bring in two superb young talents, and then you've got us, desperately in need of recruitment, not looking like concretely making a move for anyone right now, let alone these two.

We need to get our stuff together this summer. Get those early transfer deals in place.

A few reasons I think:

1. A part of it is natural pessimism
2. City aren't a club with a big fanbase and they don't generate a lot of clicks, so there's less incentive for journos to spout nonsense about their transfer dealings.
3. City have been consistently making these types of signings for quite a while now.

We need to beat City off the pitch if we can't beat them on it, and that means beating them to the big players and signings. Abit small time i know. But then we apparently beat them to Fred and Sanchez and it didn't helped us much
