I guess now that United has FINALLY bought a player from Benfica, they have found someone else to play with. 50M, wow.
Yes. You thought we weren't setting a precedent with breaking a record for Pogba? He wasn't even close to 89m in market worth. Obviously we sent a message to the transfer market that we gave zero feck about fees.
If we're buying a squad player from Real Madrid for 80, why can't Benfica ask 50 for a squad player of their own?I guess now that United has FINALLY bought a player from Benfica, they have found someone else to play with. 50M, wow.
That's just one unique instance, and for a player with enormous talents and ability which the midfeild desperately needed after scholes and giggs retirement.
So it is all so certain that Jose 'leaked'? Just because Duncan wrote the article?
Agreement by Vitolo to sign for Atletico #ttps://t.co/4D4eqsl07A
I think he would've discussed the transfer budget with Ed and the owners before choosing the payers he wanted.
This is what I am trying to say. Everyone took this as a 100% leak from Jose without questioning the article just because it's Castles.
To save you clicking..
- Didn't want to leave mainly due to the transfer ban and would've felt dirty moving due to the circumstances
- Didn't want to talk about next summer as he's focusing on his season with Athletico M and next summer is too far away
- Didn't phone Mourinho as reported to tell him he was was at Atheltico M
- Loves Simeone
- Wants to be the best footballer in the world and win trophies
And rightly so.Basic budget discussions were held I'm sure, but Mourinho doesn't strike me as the type of guy who'll give in on a specific target of his over 10 million euros or so.
The ESPN source funnily enough is a FourFourTwo interview with Griezmann. So Captain Obvious is an ESPN source.
But, Jimenez is so average, maybe poor according to the stats compared to Morata. Not being able to hack it in UCL and La Liga, and have poorer stats compared to Morata at similar age. Based on stats alone, Morata is showing improvement each year, and last year's was significant as his minutes/goals ratio shows and being able to perform at a young age for two of Europe's biggest clubs. Not to mention leading the line for Spain. Potential is there, mentality is there, so of course Morata would demand higher transfer fees. Just don't see anything special with Jimenez. Even for a club like Everton. If we're buying a squad player from Real Madrid for 80, why can't Benfica ask 50 for a squad player of their own?![]()
Yeah I hate loyalty, I hope we never sign him now!!!!

Atletico fecked him around, put him in a position where he would be the bad guy if he left them in the lurch. Would imagine that there is an agreement that he will be allowed to join United next season if they come calling.Nothing to do with loyalty. He's fecked us around.

No it isn't. It's a player who we overpaid for.
You can argue morata is a unique instance, where it's an obvious first choice, griezmann fell threw and we desperately needed to replace Zlatan. A "unique circumstance" spin could be put on anything. Doesn't change the fact that we overpay. I even thought Di Maria was overpaid too. 1 good season imo at Real amongst a few average ones and we throw 60m GBP. Shaw for 30m GBP too, when he was 18. We do this constantly and set a precedent. Inter and Real know they can negotiate till the end of the line with us because inevitably, we will pay the asking price just like we did with the others in the named examples.
Nothing to do with loyalty. He's fecked us around.

Ffs I just seen your name![]()
If, and it's a big if, the story is true and Jose is badmouthing Woody to his mates in the press and Woody goes out and spends over the odds to shut him up.Not by the people that matter.

You better believe he needs to win something next year to still be here this time next year.
I don't think it's true but Woody is his boss and you don't embarrass your boss unless you make it worth their while to forget it.
It's more than 10 million if you consider what Inter and Real are asking.
And then, why would Mourinho leak it to the press when knowing that the club is not eager to spend these amounts and by doing this he basically gives Real and Inter more bargaining power?
Nothing to do with loyalty. He's fecked us around.
He wants to portray the club as the ones not capable of delivering him the players he wants. Thus, in the case we don't succeed next year, he'll have an excuse for his failure and will be able to save his reputation. Also, he desperately wants to win right now, something I'm generally behind, but he has no reason to care about the mid-term/long-term consequences of excessive spending.
second thisCome on Woody...get us Morata today, it's getting dull around here and people are getting tetchy.....
