Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

What exactly suggests that? There has only been talk of interest in Fabinho and Monaco have straight up rejected 2 bids. You can say it was only because PSG made the bids all you like but you're basing that on nothing. I don't see why Monaco would be interested in weakening their side any more. They've sold players and replaced them. I could see Mendy potentially going and that's it. I don't buy the Arsenal Lemar links either. I'm sure they're interested but I don't see Monaco selling. People seem to think the French Champions are just going to sell their whole team easily. It's not like they're a poor club either.

French journalists have been briefed about it. That's their modus operandi. They sell.

I thought I would welcome this, but this actually makes me feel sad.
Good for the club as he isn't the same player anymore and has declined. He has done a lot for the club, broken records and won us trophies.

I think it would be unusual for any United supporter to not be sad when a player that has done so much for us leaves. True legend.

You're forgetting the most important thing and that's his price. The club is unwilling to pay 90m for him.

Yeah, but with Lukaku, we do not have to be desperate. We can tell Real to take it or leave it. If they do not want to meet us half way, like what Everton did, then they can buzz off.

The optimism/greed of some fans. We're just about to seal the second highest transfer in history, and they still think we'll get Morata on top!

Well it ain't over yet. If the reports of Jose contacting Morata and telling him about his plans were true, then I am sure Jose would have told him he envisions playing him and Lukaku together. Think Morata should be our Griezmann "replacement".
I Have this crazy theory. Its muppet season so its normal. What if Chelsea goes for Morata towards the end of the window after endless searching of other strikers. Madrid seemingly willing to reduce the fee as they are looking to buy their next new toy. Then after fee is agreed Ed would come and sweep in to hijack it.

IT is crazy but it could happen. See Lukaku. Very unlikely but not impossible.

Makes me sad seeing us ignore such a great deal. Maybe he's too small or Jose has concerns about his ability to track back. Can't see any other reason why we wouldn't be in for him. Will be a great signing for Juve.

That would be incredible! Really hope this happens now :D:lol:

Never been the biggest Rooney fan, but for me, it's a sad day. He contributed so much success to this club over the last decade.
SPecial thanks to Jose as well on him somehow managing Wazza without him creating any kind of fuss.

Could be the same reason that Bayern are so happy to let him go, in that other than for a few months after he joined he's been pretty poor for them. Too much of a risk. His output is terrible considering the amount he gets hyped up on here.

Very true. Always been a massive fan of his, but even if you're not, no denying how great he has been for united for years. One of the best we've ever had.

That's why perhaps Mourinho prefers an older and with lower ceiling Perišić, but with great workrate and mentality.

7 goals and 6 assists in just over 1800 mins isn't that bad. He's never been a goalscorer. Those numbers are similar to or better than most of our players last season.

How exactly? I'd argue the opposite. Not seeing many rating Dier atm. He was one of Spurs' best players the season before last. I'd rather we get him than nobody. I haven't seen anything to suggest Monaco have any interest in selling any more players so maybe people should stop relying solely on potentially signing Fabinho.

Did I say anything about Fabinho? Absolutely not. In fact, check my post history and you'll see I haven't posted a thing about that player as it's fairly obvious to me we have no interest in him. So, don't include me posting an opinion on Dier as related to Fabinho.

Dier is not worth 50m just the same as Matic is not worth 40m as far as I'm concerned. As a midfielder, I find them incredibly limited. I would much rather someone more accomplished on the ball than Dier. It's unlikely we would get Weigl but if we're prepared to pay that money for Dier, I'd give it a go.

And the general consesus was that most of our players were shockingly bad last season. It would seem way too much of a risk
