Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

Maybe if it really is only Liverpool he wants Southampton may end up inviting us back to the table and see what they can get out of us.
I want to play European football again and challenge for major honours and as such I would like Southampton to consider the interest in me from top clubs should it still exist.
and am disappointed that enquiries from multiple top clubs have been consistently rebuffed.
Doesn't much sound like an "only Liverpool" situation, but he could be just wording like that to avoid more tapping up complaints.

Jose never comments players from another clubs so it is strange. My muppet mode about bale is now on 10%. I still don't believe that we will buy him but .....

Southampton saying their stance is unchanged and are still unwilling to sell the player despite his request

"I did not feel I was in a settled mindset given the circumstances".

That basically is an excuse not to train. This is a grown man who is throwing his toys out of the pram. Southampton's valuation shouldn't be altered by this at all. For a top defender in this crazy market, £60m upfront is the minimum fee they should be accepting. They could probably demand £70m.

Incredibly entitled to sign a 6 year contract just 6 months before asking to leave. And then upon being told no, throw enough of a fit that they decide to leave you out of training.

If you were so ambitious and was planning to leave, maybe you shouldn't have signed a 5 year contract with increased wages, Mr. Virgil Dumb Dick.

And also, why not hand in the transfer request earlier…

:banter: wants to join top clubs challenging for top honours...

So not Liverpool then: 1 league cup in the last 10 seasons, no league title in 27 years.

Must be a come and get me plea to more successful sides, like Leicester City

If Saints go back on their word now, it'll just be a kick in the teeth for the fans as there's not much more fight they can "show". The best scenario for them if he has to go is Chelsea or City. But I don't think either of those two materialises. IMO It's either he stays or goes to LFC. At the least they should be demanding an extortionate sum to dampen the damage.

Bluemoon's version of Acquire Me, someone called "Tolmiehairdo", had them all convinced that City were going for both Sanchez and Mbappe and that something huge had happened a couple of days ago. He has them all lapping up all the BS he comes out with, I wonder when he'll have his Acquire Me exposed moment. It's going to be hilarious if/when they end up with neither player:lol::lol:
Not sure why you are mocking Acquire Me. Everyone knew Griezmann was happening until the transfer ban. The deal still could happen next summer.

Everyone...as in, it was obvious.
As was Pogba and Mourinho.

He also claimed we were getting Morata and Weigl

I'm not one for wishing bad things to people. But in this instance I wouldn't mind if Southampton dished out "the Berahino treatment" for half a season or more just to sent out a message.

Agreed. He's definitely gotten a bit too big for his boots.

It wouldn't be a "big loss" at all. Aurier is a risky punt - he is trouble and has issues off the field.

Disagree heavily, relative to the market he's very cheap for a player of his quality and Valencia just turned 32. We might find ourselves spending a fair bit more on a worse right back next summer if we miss out.

If we get neither Bale or Perisic (Which is looking increasingly likely), then who are we after? Mourinho recently said he is happy with the three but is looking at bringing in another.
I'm thinking it's an act. That we know what Inter want for Perisic but won't pull the trigger until we know for certain Bale is unavailable. Could drag on this..

Again, it's not about his quality. It's about his off field issues. He is trouble

Jose might not want the baggage that Aurier inevitably brings.

He is also an ACN player, meaning United could lose the entire right hand side of their defence for at least a fortnight next year, and every 2 years after that.

With regards to VvD, I can respect that he's sticking to his guns and makes his intentions official. I think it's much more sneaky that a player is pushing so damn hard for a move, while refusing to hand in a transfer request and abstain from his 'loyalty' bonus.

Hopefully no-one. What I mean by that is if we haven't identified someone else after those 2 who we want then there's no point signing someone for the sake of it. We should definitely not panic-buy. We're better off saving that money and trying in January or next summer.
