Didn't they strike oil at Goodison last or the year before last?Never thought I'd see the day when Everton are spending £100 million in a transfer window.
No Sigurdsson on Saturday?![]()
You are so obviously a WUM, not even funny.

I was expecting Spurs to make a move for him. Don't know why they didn't.
Let's see. His transfer may be more active now with Sigurdsson coming.
He was not going to play anyway. Anyway, Llorente is missing too.
Sigurdsson for 45 million. The world has truly gone mad.
9 goals and 13 assists last season. He does provide good end product.Sigurdsson for 45 million. The world has truly gone mad.

You will certainly be weaker without Gifi thats for sure, you have good reason to be worried.Rather play with Tami up front, tbh. Without Gylfi flinging in dead balls he'd barely have a touch of the ball anyway. Swans need to spend some of the cash they've just got and quickly. Unfortunately, I have little faith in our rectruitment. We've been linked with people like Nacer Chadli as replacements at ridiculous prices. If we don't up our pace and creativity it'll be another battle for 17th. Genuinely concerned what United may do on Saturday.
And play him where/instead of who?
Sure he's alright and gets decent numbers. But he's not a signing that screams ambition.9 goals and 13 assists last season. He does provide good end product.
If you don't need to earn shrewd anymore then sign more talented players. This signing is like going for the shrewd option but paying big for it.Very happy despite the fee. We don't need to be shrewd anymore and he will improve us.
Sigurdsson is not a winger though.Sigurdsson no worse than Perisic at that fee one could argue. Also the former is Premier League proven.

He'll prolly do well for you but smacks of a signing to cement your position in the league rather than take you anywhere further.
Everton have bought very well this summer they will be contending for 4th place this season with the squad they have. Sigurdsson is a good player for them, previously they would of signed someone like Tom Cleverly or Darren Gibson at least they've taken a step up in buying better players.Sure he's alright and gets decent numbers. But he's not a signing that screams ambition.

Everton should finally be able to beat Liverpool now. Please come on
Yeah I know but they have some team now and all we can do is hopeNever going to happen

Aye, but Sigurdsson isn't a winger, so the comparison doesn't really make much sense.Sigurdsson no worse than Perisic at that fee one could argue. Also the former is Premier League proven.

It's an absolutely insane price.
Mad enough that the likes of Everton, who for years have pleaded poverty are shelling £45m, having already lashed through the Lukaku cash, but £45m on Siggy? Cripes.
And all for most likely the effect of at best standing still at 7th

Lol ... you seem to imagine that Spurs didn't otherwise plan to sign any players. I doubt if Levy gives a flying feck what Rose does or not think.
As for Rose, the squad didn't back him. I hear that he got a frosty reception.
Tbf you said it was crazy we were not in for him. It was a bit of an exaggeration even based off of your rationale since the post.I think it's sad you can't have a different perspective without being accused of being a WUM. I've given my reasons why I think we should go for him. Am I not allowed to have that opinion and share it?
I can equally understand why people say he's not what we need. But I'd still like him if money wasn't an issue, but as I already conceded we don't have unlimited oil money to buy everyone we want.
Fellaini played for the first team and was also pretty... innocuous, there I said itMcTominay played for the U-23's a couple of days ago and was pretty .....inoculus, there I said it.
To be fair, he's PL proven, a transfer within the league, at an age close to his potential, a very good record for a relatively small club like Swansea. I'd say that is a good and progressive buy for a club like Everton. It's not like they've got the first pick of the best talents around.Sure he's alright and gets decent numbers. But he's not a signing that screams ambition.

Siggurdsson only had 5 assists from open play last season. He's good on set pieces though.
He's a limited player that is very good on dead balls. Let's not pretend he's anything more. Swansea got a great transfer fee, welldone to them.Playing for a team like Swansea that isn't a bad tally, especially added to his 9 goals. Set piece delivery is also very important so don't see why those assists should be discounted. You're acting like it's as easy to get huge goal and assist numbers for Swansea as it is for a club like City or even Everton
Yeah I know but they have some team now and all we can do is hope![]()

Like Swansea had a choiceLol, nonsense. Well done to Swansea who have probably doomed themselves to relegation![]()
