Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

He's not a natural winger, he's not as good YET as some people claim he is (although he certainly has the potential to be great) and he prefers to drift infield.

We are overloaded with those sorts of players. Mourinho seems to be quite clear in the type of winger he wants and Lemar doesn't fit that bill.

He's arguably got more potential than any of those current options though, and a totally different player to Martial who I've seen him compared to. I don't think it's a terrible idea, certainly wouldn't be against it. We need fullbacks from the wings in my opinion not actual wingers.

We need natural width. Lemar is not a player who would provide that natural width imo. Hed just be another player who prefers to drift in field put out on the wing to operate. He's not a full back either.

As for the potential point, he certainly doesn't have any more potential than Martial or Rashford.

I agree. He spouts way too much shite for someone who's supposed to be Mourinho's mouthpiece.

I think he's less Mourinho's mouthpiece and more of a weird stalker.

Do we actually know he has any connections with him, or is this thinking just based on the abundance of arse licking articles he's written about Jose over the years?

Our width should be coming from the fullbacks, allowing the attacking players increased space and more options and variety of play.

Not according to our manager, who happily puts more defensively minded fullbacks on the left. They don't venture as far forward for a reason.

Which full backs ?

  • Darmian that can't attack ?
  • Blind who has no pace ?
  • Shaw who is always injured ?
  • Or kick the ball into the shin Valencia ?
Call me crazy but I think some our width should come from our wingers. We already have 4 who love nothing more than to drift inside, it would be nice to have 1 who can actually stay outwide for a change.

Well I have been saying on this forum for a week how I think it's crazy we haven't looked to upgrade our fullback options this summer, to me that is a much higher priority than a winger.

Deleting the posts. As far as I can see beINmov2 is not a genuine account.

Or City buy Neymar from PSG, who tell Barca they never really wanted him, it was just to teach them a lesson over Veratti.

Even if it was true, why would City fans be 'worrying'. Don't they have enough attacking options

Barca selling Messi  they could just as well shut the club down and the representatives leave the country to a safe place

He has a release clause of 300m, but i doubt someone or City could trigger that after spending already 200m.

Mansour rarely, if ever, speaks out on transfers. Highly doubt the legitimacy of this.
True because he's busy, it just wouldn't happen. He lets other people run the club. He's deputy PM of a country, chairman and board member of various councils, and the investor of many things (one of which being the investment firm ADUG, who own City). Can you imagine such a character giving away such a quote to a nobody journalist?

Agreed. It's nonsense.

This guy clearly hasn't seen him play if he thinks Sakho for £30m even in today's market is cheap. The guy is accident prone and not a good defender in general, £30m and Liverpool will be robbing them (no pun intended).

He is a good defender and was crucial for Palace. People see what they want to see on here sometimes.

The fee is a bit higher than expected. Good deal for both sides.

Crucial for them not getting relegated. That doesn't make him worth 30m.

For West Brom to replace Jonny Evans so they don't get relegated? It's absolutely worth it. Why is everyone so concerned with the value of players? It is totally irrelevant if the buying club can afford it and happy to pay it.

He isn't a good defender imo, Liverpool weakness is their defence and he can't even get in that when they shipped 4 goals in a week.

Only looks good in the Palace team as they're bang average and have to defend more than top teams, giving him more opportunities to make up for mistakes.

I think he has fallen out with Klopp like Cost has with Conte hence cannot get in when he should be starting.

Maybe it is also a style thing but he is better than Lovren at least.

When were West Brom in any danger of getting relegated? There is 0 chance West Brom will pay that and/or are happy to pay that price. The point is he's not that good and Kaveh is talking rubbish - yet again.

The manager has to do what's right for the team, if it means putting differences aside for the benefit of the team then it has to be done, like what Conte did with Costa and they won the league.
