On one hand I'd hate for City to get him. On the other, I'd love to see him in the prem.

If he's really leaving Barcelona on a free, then we'd also try for him(and so would every other big club in the world)

I thought the price mentioned was 300 mil?

In the article Castles has posted, he says that Messi's contract is expiring in 2018(which I just double checked and it seems true) and also that City are more likely to try to sign him on a free.

Ballbag's said Messi is all agreed to sign a new contract.

So what number will City give him?

I don't like the bloke, but I'd find a new sense of disdain if he decided to go and chase the money and join City. Swapping Barca, for all their faults, for City would be mental.

He would be phenomenal.

Especially at a club like City.

He would be like Silva (at his best) on steroids.
I don't think so personally. I know all logic says he would be. He's never been as good for Argentina imo. There are a lot of easy games in La Liga which he thrives in.

Messi is the best player in the whole universe, he could do it in any league. Simple as that.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying he'd suddenly turn into Lingard, just that I don't think he'd find it as easy as he does in Spain. Just my opinion.

Yeah, because Messi always struggle vs English teams in the CL.

Oh wait, he doesn't.

He'd rip up the Prem.

He's crushed every single English team he's faced (except Chelsea and he was still very good in that game)

He would make mincemeat of the cannon fodder in this league.

I don't understand United fans saying this. He's shown us first hand what he can do. Twice. In the biggest final in club football.

I know this sound weird but good players get more protection in the CL than in England. I don't think the CL is a great reflection of how well a player will perform in the UK. Plus we weren't a physical side. He may struggle more against more aggressive tackling.

Having said that i think he would be unbelievable in the league. Ha ha.

Don't understand why Balague feels the need to defend the Spanish clubs especially when it verses the English teams. He is employed by the British media and is an Espanyol fan.

And yet he sticks up for Liverpool in the Coutinho saga, the guy seriously is messed up in the head.
