If we will sign Vidal, Di Maria and Hummels we will win Champions league. Doesn't matter which season..

I know he's on the banned list but

Might make Di Maria a bit more possible

Makes all the difference really,

Bale-----Rodriguez----Ronaldo
----------Benzema------

Where is he going to play? He knows he'll be guaranteed to be a key player here for us, hope we will pay the necessary amount to lure him here if his services become available.

Because Khedira, a box-to-box midfielder is the key to Arsenal's defensive midfield problems.

This is exactly the reason we should sign them. That's enough fire-power to take the league back off city next season, which I'm sure everyone at the club is going to aim to do, none of this Top 4 bollocks.

Next season is shaping up to close as feck. Collymore is being a cock as usual but if they get him they'll surely contend for it.

Not sure about their centre backs.

They conceded 6 against City and Chelsea plus 5 vs Liverpool. Don't think Debuchy is a upgrade over Sagna.

And before a Arsenal fan says oh Debuchy starts ahead of Sagna for France. Well Sakho starts ahead of Koschielny.

I think they're good enough, Liverpool's aren't exactly great. They just need a better player than Arteta in front of them and Khedira is a top buy.

They still have Wenger, who's tactics are about as much use in big games as Davey Moyes.

That's a bit harsh and not exactly true. Arsenal hadn't really challenged for the title in a long time until last season. You wouldn't expect their record against the top four to be much better than it has been with that in mind.

Tactically Wenger has made many mistakes though so he does have a point.

I think it's a bit unfair to be as hard on Wenger as people seem to be these days. He's still a top manager and every manager makes mistakes over the length of time he's been Arsenal manager. He hasn't had the strength of squad until recently.

I suppose he looks worse to us looking in because it's games against United where he's struggled the most, going back 8 years or so. In their league, FA cup and CL games against us he's always been tactically outmaneuvered by SAF, and even with Moyes we still looked the better side over the two matches. Unlike our games against City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Spurs, and Everton.

In terms of mentality his sides always look vulnerable to folding under pressure, as happened in several games last season, and they can never maintain a title charge beyond February or March.

Whatever he had that gave him an edge 10-15 years ago is long gone now.

This.

We can't settle for anything, we need to be back on top and we need to splash the cash to get there.

Agreed. Wtf is wrong with people just aiming for top 4.

One great performance against Brazil and suddenly he's world class. I don't get the fuss over him to be honest. His performances for Madrid have been good but hardly world class.

We really need to get our acts together though. I know it is very early but I am surprised at the early business that other clubs have done. Astonishing number of big deals. And importantly after last season's disaster, I hope we get our signings in early as we need them the most compared to City, Chelsea, Arsenal. We have signed a couple of long term players but there is no doubt unless we sign 2 more top class players we wont be able to compete with the rest. All our rivals are serious about signings. Even Arsenal look like they could get 2 top class players in. Chelsea got the class striker they needed. Mangala to City would be a huge signing. Fabregas to Chelsea also another big deal.

The number of deals at decent prices this window are surprising. Fabregas, Kroos, Costa, Sanchez, etc have all gone fore resonable prices and we could have done with Either one except Costa.

Edward where art thou?

Dynamo Moscow?? No offense but shouldn't Valbuena much better than that.

Annoying that he's finally leaving Marseille the same year they have Bielsa and should actually be fun to watch.

I'd have loved to see Valbuena as a 10 in a good team playing 4-2-1-3 or 4-2-3-1. As Valencia's 10 with Feghouli and another winger besides him and Parejo + DM behind, or at Schalke with Draxler and Meyer alongside him, or Everton narrow on the left next to Barkley and Mirallas.

I hate when fun players go to Russia. I'm a depressed football addict, but not so much so that I'm going to start following the Russian league for feck's sake.

We're doing fine. Relax. We have signed a genuinely good CM in Herrera and probably the 4th best young or young-ish LB in the world in Shaw (Alaba is very, very good, Rodriguez looks a nailed on star and Alba has immense potential). We're in with a decent shout for Vidal and Di Maria. If we can get one, the summer will be a massive success.

.

Fair to assume the rest should move to the Scottish league to win a title then?

He's overconfident, but I could definitely see the following team win a title:

------Giroud-----
Sanchez-------Ozil-
-Ramsey--Khedira-
------Wilshere------
Gibbs-------------RB
Mertesacker-Koscielny

if Wenger figured out that he needs to risk it and convert Wilshere to the deepest CM and work through the growing pains rather than persist with an aging Arteta or Flamini.

I think that team would still falter.

Wilshire was used further forward on the left and in place of Ramsey when injured. Wouldnt be surprised if he was the one left out

I dont think calling this summer a massive success is a good thing. I think we absolutely need one cb and one midfielder more(both world class or close top it). A massive success would be landing Vidal,di maria and hummels. Only getting one of them would be a decent summer.

Agreed. People are not looking at in the context of how our rivals both in the league and abroad are strengthening and we need it the most after last season.

I think khedira will play the deepest. Giroud wont play as the striker, it will be sanchez who plays there. Walcott and ozil on the wings,Ramsey- wilshire Attacking and box to box with khedira sitting deep. That defense looks not good enough, but i dont think Liverpool/united have a good defense either.
Gibbs is bound to get injured, mertesacker turns slower than a 16 wheeler truck. Atleast with our and pool defense we have age on our side. Debuchy will be a decent signing that will improve the defense though. For me they need a better centre half.

They are thinking too short term. People have lowered their expectations dramatically. Sir alex went into every season to win the league and the champions league. People have lowered standards dramatically saying 4 th place would be enough. I dont think real/ barca would ever say 3 rd is enough. Real won the Champions league and are looking to add jamez rodriguez (65 million pounds). They have already added Toni kroos. Its about continuous improvement.

I am not worried yet. I would have liked another signing by now to be honest, but there is still 6 weeks left I suppose, but these deals need to start moving.
The one thing I will say is, teams around us are improving, which is frustrating.
Chelsea have Fabregas and look like Costa is pretty much nailed on
Arsenal have Sanchez

I know we have bought Herrera and Shaw, and I am excited by them both, but none of them are up there as a top player yet, and we do need two of them. A CB and CM. I do also think a winger would be nice though.
Obviously getting Di Maria and Vidal would be great, and that would really show the intent at the club, but we will see

We're clearly in for another CM, if we're not interested in Khedira. It wouldn't make sense to leave our midfield how it is whilst everyone else is improving theirs. I'd expect Monday onwards the ball will start rolling again, we need at least 3 more players imo.

We have made two excellent signings that will improve our first 11 instantly. Another starter and it will be a very good window imo although I do expect us to sign a cover player also for left back centre half (Vermalin or Blind type).

Maybe Strootman a strong possibility come January if not Vidal, although I think Vidal is a good player and would improve us as most would right now but best in world I'm not so sure on what little I have seen so far (about 10 games). Is he really that good as I'd take Schweinsteiger or Modric or Pogba over him.
