It has to be a lot more then 34 million that's caused us to pull out, if it is true we have.

Seems like we haven't learnt from our mistakes last year then. We'd be much worse off money wise if we didn't make Europe again.

You forgot Fletcher and Anderson! But yeah it is unreal to be honest, unless of course LVG is going to surprise us all and pull off a massive signing this isn't going to go down well, it's not like we are stocked with real talent in that department at youth level either.

This is the massive signing. There is no better signing out there for us at the moment. We need a CM infinitely more than we need anything else, and (alongside Modric) Vidal is the best all-rounder out there at the moment. And more suitable for us than Modric anyway what with his defensive quality.

He could sign Ronaldo instead and I'd be disappointed. We need a CM.

Ridiculous that we spent so much on Shaw, Fellaini, but then when there's a player the fans want (fabregas last year, Vidal this year) then we try and be stingy. I'd rather be like Madrid and blow everyone else out the water with insane money. Not like we can't afford to.
I very much doubt 'who the fans want' is a particular topic of discussion regarding transfers. Even more so with van Gaal who won't give two fecks.

I'm honestly not sure I believe we don't want to pay £34m for Vidal when we have paid £30m for a 19 year old full back and a player for £27m who is at least a level below Vidal (no disrespect to the lad) coupled with the fact that it is apparent he's LvG's supposed target and has said multiple times that he wanted him when he was Munich manager and now Vidal saying he would like to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world, this is all in addition to the fact that no journalist has a clue what's going on at the club whatsoever and the fact that we wouldn't brief papers like the Telegraph but would brief Mail, Mirror and the Sun is completely ludicrous.

I tend to agree, sadly it would seem LVG and the club disagree (or so the press would have us believe).

I'm gonna plug something out of my own arse and tell that all this is bs, the club didn't made one offer, Vidal didn't made his mind up, the Juve don't know if they'll sell. Everyone is waiting for Vidal to comeback from holiday and talk with Marotta and Conte.

Until then the press will try to accumulate as much clicks as they can.

He wants the move, please everyone relax, the mail and mirror have been briefed but it's a negotiation tactic used once before for Vidal when the price was up at around 37m, we want to get him for 32 and consider the sale of Evra as 2m+ ontop. Equalling the 34m.

We hold all the cards here and we know it, Juve have spent alot of money thus far, money they don't have. Vidal will 100% be a United player it's just a matter of how much. I would be extremely shocked if they didn't sell him to us for 34 or even 32m. They need to pay for Itrube, Morata and Evra not to mention their wages.

The deal is most definitely not off by any stretch of the imagination. Woodwards pulling favours and got the media doing his job for him. The only place you should believe is anything coming out of Chile as that is where Vidal is spending his holidays.

Put the scare mongering to bed, sleep easy. It's just another way of saying "take it or leave it" Juve won't seĺl Pogba unless it's an insane fee, none of their other players would pull in a big sort of sum Vidal is the next best and believe me they will sell. Why give up guaranteed cash.

Also please remember they want Evra off us, we could easily refuse to sell to them. This is all to do with that deal too.

Muppets, take a step back, chill, it's a matter of time.

Also, I'm not going to jump the gun on the Vidal deal being off.. People are forgetting how easy it is to manipulate the media with a few quiet words..

It's too early to assume that we dont want to sign because of his valuation.. For all we know it could be Juve trying to play mischief and put pressure on woodward by leaking reports saying United have backed off over the price..

Meh. Had the same hope for the Fabregas deal last year. We will have to wait and see. We cannot possibly that stupid though.

Don't know how to embed Tweets but here's what LvG said about Vidal so that wouldn't seem like he's too fussed what is spent on him.

Thank god we've finally got a reliable source on the scene.

Not sure if he's banned but he has a point too :)

He's just banked us £750m, he's gained a pass for a little while at least.
What good is banking £750million when you won't spend it? (If the rumours are true)

Plus he doesn't deserve a pass at all yet, he hasn't even signed anyone of note yet/

How could i forget Anderson... every year people say he's going to come back a beast and be like a new signing. Then every year he fails, yet we keep him here. Crazy. Fletcher i've always liked. He was a great player for us before his illness, but i just can't see him returning to his previous form now. When we have seen him play, he's been pretty much a shadow of his former self. That realistically leaves us with Cleverley, Carrick and Herrera (yes i know about Fellaini, but he's useless and i imagine he'll be sold). We could promote Lingard and Petrucci, but with little to no Premier League experience, and this upcoming season being extremely important in regards to regaining Champions League football, is it really worth the risk?

I really can't see us going into the new season with the midfield we have, and if we're going for Strootman in the January window, what happens if we're struggling by then? I don't think we will be, but what if? What if Roma flat out don't want to sell and we don't get him? What if Strootman doesn't want to come to United? A whole lot of What If's but hell, each of them are possible.

Can any back up the claim that Red Issue said we've pulled out?

If this one is over, it's hilarious we're all so disappointed because the story never really got going! No reported bid, no false reports that we'd signed him, not one of the usual reliable Manchester journos have even said we're properly in for him. I'd rank this saga firmly behind the likes of Lucas/Sneijder/Thiago, but still feels as big a blow as all of them.

But seriously, we've already signed 2 players 'of note' this summer...

It's absolute rubbish that the fee is stopping us, we just signed a £75m a year kit deal. We are playing this right for sure, we need to come across a bit tight now and not let every club think we have unlimited funds and are being reckless with them.

The transfer fee is not the issue here I just want to know if Vidal really wants to come or not.

I think we should add the bitter blue Peter Spencer to the blacklist.

£34m  I'd actually feel sorry for Juve if we ripped them off that badly. And yet we're the ones scoffing at the price!

I can only imagine what will happen on here if Madrid or City or someone come in and get him for £34mil from right under our noses, especially after just announcing a £750mil world record kit deal!

You couldn't make this shit up with us sometimes, Hollywood wouldn't dream up a more ridiculous plot!.

Bed time i think, my heads spinning too much lol.

Something funny going on. I don't believe we wouldn't pay that fee. If our marquee signing ends up being Cavani over Vidal or di Maria I don't think anyone would be happy with that.

Funny you should mention that "new player" tag line.. that's what good old Paddy said this evening about Fletch. I'm sorry but he was an okay player before his illness, to me it's only sentimental reasons why he still has a contract with us. He will never get back to the standards needed. Anderson is a waste of time and wages as well, need to get shot of him. Cleverley and Fellaini or no better either. I actually don't think Petrucci is all that, didn't impress last couple of loan moves, Pereira seems a better bet but how many number 10's does one team need?

I like Strootman, I like him a lot but coming back from the injury he had and pinning all our hopes on him half way through the season makes very little sense to me.

If this information is true then either LVG has contradicted himself or LVG is going to be more livid than us. Something doesn't quite add up. I'm not throwing my toys out of the pram just yet. I'm going to eat a habanero chilli every hour in Vidal's honour until he signs.

LvG will sort this nonsense out.

For me, it is just a bit of posturing. Vidal is relaxed because we have assured him we are coming for him and he clearly wants it. Juventus are playing hardball for a figure that none of us know and we just don't fancy paying it.

It will sort itself out in the end.

You do sell an extraordinary amount of pure speculation as if it's fact, don't you? I'm not even agreeing or disagreeing with your point here, but you don't actually know feck about what's happening with Juve's finances, with the Vidal deal (or even whether there's ever been one), the Evra situation, Woodward's relationship with the media... it's all a load of meaningless guesswork. Iturbe, Morata and Evra, eh? Can I get a look at Juve's public shopping list when you're done with it?

Story briefed to counter any thoughts juve may be having given the kit announcement. Dampen their expectations. Expect fee being discussed will actually be higher than the 34m.

Whoever gives us Vidal for £34million needs to be fired by Juventus haha, they could easily get north of £40million.

If I was a Juve fan, I'd be pissed off
