Don't turn into scousers, lads. What's the issue? He appears to be reporting a relevant, newsworthy quote. Getting that from Butt is the very definition of doing his job well.

He nitpicked a quote from a long article i linked above without context about Herrera in MEN and they have given the whole thing a positive spin.

This is still fair enough and acceptable as a standalone but he constantly seems to have a bit of slanted agenda on twitter and even in his articles a bit. Been observing a while now.

Anyway, don't get why they replaced Daniel Taylor with this guy when he was promoted. Was much better re United atleast.

He's totally twisted it. It comes across as me he's saying that you can't always get the bigger name midfielders so you have to widen your search...

Yeah, same but still silly of him to name drop Krooos and Pogba particularly. Maybe the questioner named them and he was responding.

He's using a second hand source though, so he's hardly doing his job well. I agree that we shouldn't be requesting that he be banned from the thread or anything daft like that.
Fair enough. I hadn't noticed it was originally an MEN piece. Doesn't change my view, though. They asked a former player and current employee of the club for his opinion and he gave them something to work with by implicitly saying, along other things, that Herrera's not up to the standard of the players mentioned. Now that should be obvious to anyone with half a brain in their nut but it's certainly worth discussion, particularly given it came from someone at the club and who is friendly with two of the more senior coaches.

Taylor got promoted, I think.

I'd be content if we signed Varane. Though it could just be angling for a new deal.

Obviously nobody likes Jackson, but that article is all quotes from Butt. Jackson is just milking it as usual. Nicky should be more careful in his interviews.

Don't believe we would have been in for Di Maria if the wage and Fee figures bandied around are correct anyway at those levels.

I was going to delay my post for a period of reflection but then I saw that Varane tweet, probably a contract leverage tactic but he'd be a great buy.

I know what you're saying man, but none of us have a clue if Vidals knee is causing a problem for a possible transfer. We pretty much know feck all in all honesty.

What i will say though is, that Vidal had surgery & was rushed back for the WC - Strootman wasnt, so he's been recovering. I'm not saying they had the same injury (which they didnt of course), but no-one seems to know how bad or good Vidals knee is after the WC - if you believe the reports.

He played as best he could through it, but he could have really damaged it in the process too..

As i said, none of us have a fecking clue whats goin on with anything regarding transfers really - apart from Mitten saying its on & then its off..
My bad, I actually just wanted to convey how ridiculous these journos sound. But forgot to add that in the post.

Since I was 13 or 14 years old, I’ve been telling my mother and my father that my dream is to play some day for Manchester United.

“And I won’t stop till I get it.

“When I watch [Wayne] Rooney and all of them on TV, I can’t wait to play there at Old Trafford.

“When I was a little boy I watched Arsenal games as well, but Manchester United always dazzled me most.”

I don't know which article is correct; if they are both true, he is retarded.

Even if the Varane story is true, Mourinho would be all over him like a shot if there's a chance he'll leave RM.

Unless we were prepared to spend big and match Chelsea for the fee and wage, they'd most likely trump us.

We trumped them for Shaw.

Like they did with Luke Shaw? I'd love to know where the "Chelsea won't have much to spend this summer" nonsense come from after spending over £70m this summer already.

Granted they sold SideShow Bob for £50m so pretty much answered my own question.

Rather short sighted that to be honest.

Exactly what most players will do, take the sure thing.

Or more likely as Di Maria has grown, played for Madrid and won the champions league his ambitions have changed like most adults from their teenage years.

A lot of players say things of this nature when they welcome a move to a certain club at that stage of their career.
