This is ridiculous, he is obviously stalling because he fancies another club, why would City persist with him?

He's their only option perhaps?
Read earlier that Benatia was working with Roma towards renewing his contract.

I always get irritated when people mention Real/Barca's model of buying players. They operate on a different level of budget compared to most clubs with them able to negotiate their own tv deals and all. And buying players just for the sake of buying a marquee signing even though they have world class players already just doesn't happen anywhere else as often.

We bought Young to be a squad/backup winger to Nani and Valencia at the time which was perfectly fine since the latter two were two of the best wingers around and Young was good for Villa. Of course things change since then. Both suffered injuries and never quite able to play as well as before consistently.

Respect your opinion, I won't derail the thread and have the cops calling for a ban so I'll call it quits on this.

Forget about Hummels and Reus it´s there physio we should be bidding for.

Dortmund following Chelsea's lead I see, the problem here is I foresee more fake groin injuries during games.

Vidal (purely because Juvrntus have not been emphatic about him and the player himself seemingly open to leaving... whilst the likes of Madrid and co seem busy with other targets), de Jong, Vermaelen or de Vrij.

Gotcha, so we should only target one top player, a crock and two average ones.

If you think De Vrij is avrage, then you are very much mistaken.

Hummels is unrealistic De Vrij would be a good signing though.

Betting companies? How does that work?

I think the Premier League funding it is probably the best option. Or at least a viable one, anyway! There is now a thread for it in the football forum.

To get their license to do business in Norway (sports betting), they have to give some percentage of their gross income to a government fund that gives the money to sport at grass root level.

I thought Will Keane's chances of making it here were done, I'm surprised at this! Not going to pretend I've seen a lot of him but his scoring record isn't great and I know he's struggled with injuries. I assumed he'd be shipped out and Wilson would be given a chance.

Yeah I'm surprised too. Let's hope Van Gaal has seen him do well on the training pitch and wants to give him a chance either this or next season.

He strikes me as one who'll be lucky to get 7 or 8 goals in the PL.

Sky are saying that Leicester are also after Troy Deeney and Florent Malouda. Can't see them staying up this season but the funny thing is, they're still getting better players than the ones Villa are bringing in.

Rac1 reporting Bojan Krikic is off to Stoke City. Finally, will sign a four-year deal after being loaned every season since 2011.

Next summer they'll be struggling to get rid of him after yet another shite season. Last season he played for Ajax (won the title) and only scored 4 goals in a league where Michael fecking Higdon scored 14 goals for a NEC Nijmegen side that got relegated. Don't know what happened to Krkic but he's useless now.

How much would Jordan Rhodes cost? Couldn't be that much more than this fella, could it? I reckon he'd easily score 14 or 15 league goals in the PL.

Blackburn bought him for a lot, doubt they'd let him go cheap

Rhodes signed a new 5 year deal with Blackburn a couple of weeks ago so I guess he's going nowhere this summer.

meanwhile:

I think Caulker is potentially very good, not sure why Spurs didn't keep him considering they consistently have clowns like Dawson and Kaboul at CB.
