Isn't he? He seems ridiculously touchy feely. I've seen him hug half the squad already and they haven't even played a game yet.

I guess if it works...?
He has a touch of the embarassing dad about him. But also a touch of the 'will-throw-your-Super-Nintendo-out-of-a-second-floor-window-if-you-annoy-him'. Which is pretty much the perfect combination.

Having van Gaal in charge is like a reward for having to sit through all of those defeats and shit performances last season. The man is just brilliant.

Embarrassing dad! When he runs he looks like he's at a wedding, and is on his way to the dance floor just as his favourite song is starting.

I'm guessing that was because Van Gaal asked Rooney to hit a specific spot with his corner and Rooney had failed a couple of times before finally hitting it. I've received that tongue-in-cheek/in jest reaction many times. Or Rooney hit his spot with the first corner and Van Gaal was over the moon. Either way good to see they're enjoying themselves!

Fletcher as captain is interesting. It's either a move to boost Fletcher's confidence or LVG does have plans for him to play a big part this season. That said, I've always maintained that if Fletcher could hold a position in the first team then he should be captain without doubt.

Or maybe LVG is reluctant to hand it to someone else because he wants to have a more detailed look for captain. I.e. Rooney, Evans, Jones.

Fletcher is the easy option because he's experienced, well liked, respected and probably won't a be a huge feature in the team but has leadership qualities when needed.

It's the obvious decision for the time being. If in doubt, just give it to the oldest, most experienced player available, and with RvP and Carrick out, that's Fletcher.

Yeah, if he gives it to Rooney right now or anyone else then changing decision later will look like a snub and even cause ego bruises etc..

Fletcher is the safe choice as he is the most senior, academy product, down to earth and probably knows anyway that he won't be a regular starter this season. Won't be a problem giving it to him till he finally decides.

Dont know about anyone else, but giving Fletch captaincy just now screams to me that he wants to give it to Carrick once he's back fit....

Or RVP when he has arrived. Anyway, reading bit much into it. Fletcher is more vocal than Carrick anyway.

Giulio Tedeschi, FIFA agent, spoke yesterday in Europe microphones Game, Sport Cadena on recent signings of European teams.

Manchester United:
"The English team is the closest to gain the services of Vidal and would be with him on the 2nd week of August."

Agree with you there.

Obviously the really big doubt is over the first half of that sentence. More's the pity.
