I'm glad he's at least grabbing the bull by the horns tbh he is the manager after all.
These tours are just money spinners, and for the sponsors. Chelsea's tour is just a few friendlies in Europe. Van Gaal would love a few weeks on the training ground, and maybe two weeks playing some pre season games in Europe.

Isn't there an NBA guy who seems to break every story going? During the draft someone was tweeting almost every pick before they were officially announced

They're called 'insiders' and every sports team in the US have a few of them.
They know of EVERY story hours before it's announced, i've been told that the teams do it to stay on good terms w/ the media to present stories with the teams best interest.

 Adrian Wojnarowski has basically every pick out before it happens in the NBA. I think the only one he didn't do this year was Randle to the Lakers. There were tons of people making fake accounts of him before the draft.

Any news on the Jordi Cruyff signing, Howard?

These journalists really know nothing. The sensible answer to the Vidal discussion is: "We'll have to wait till Vidal returns from Holiday to be able to determine what Vidals true feelings are. He won't give anything away before meeting with Juventus."

Instead, they're all claiming it's off based on that airport 'interview'. Muppets.

Garry Cook claimed he was hacked. The club didn't buy it. He resigned. The club itself never claimed anything about hacking.
Right. We're really getting into nit-picking if we're saying that Garry Cook, in his role as CEO of the organisation, allegedly denying the accusations and ordering an investigation into the sending of an email, isn't him speaking for, or acting on behalf of the club, but so be it.

Actually no. They're basing it off what Utd are telling them.

No it's not at all nit-picking. You're basically saying the club tried to cover up what he did. They launched an internal investigation and he was made to resign. He was speaking on behalf of himself, trying to save his job.

I have seen nothing to suggest we're talking to the media.
You can't be serious? You don't think almost every single British journalist running the same line on Vidal, or the journalists following the tour naming the transfer targets is indicative of us doing some talking?

We've not issued a statement but when asked the question by Ian Ladyman, James Ducker, Jamie Jackson, Simon Jones, David McDonnell the "club" (as they call it) have said the same for weeks - "we have no interest". Thats appeared in many of their articles regarding Utd for the last 2 weeks.

This is not happening and i dont see why so many people acutlly believe it will. There is a difference in wanting it to happen - we all do cause he's top quality.

I've not seen any reporting transfer targets. Might have missed the tweets.

Spot on. Why cant people see this?

Fair enough. Perhaps that is the case.

Mitten said there was definite interest last week but has gone quiet on it since then, perhaps his source was wrong.

Perhaps he knows feck all...don't know why people believe him so much.

His video following the Vidal claim was very quick to state he could be wrong and he likes to think his sources are more often right than wrong, sounded like backtracking to me.

This is my thinking aswell. For whatever reason we're not pursuing Vidal and although I'd love us to sign him it ain't happening.

Spot on. I dont know why we're not in for him but i think its clear as day we're not. If we're playing 3-4-3 (as LVG has confirmed is the plan) who is our alternative to Herrera?

If we buy De Jong (as i suspect) then he's a Fletch/Carrick alternative.

Perhaps Juve are literally refusing to budge, and LVG is happy with Herrera / Cleverley / Kagawa as CM options? We really don't know what's happening.

I Honestly do believe there was interest, but you can't buy whats for sale. Sure we have the cash but if we get held to ransom we will look even more stupid.

I'm quite sure only a handful people at United knows our transfer targets. There is zero chance that any of them will brief any journalist anything related to a possible deal before it's almost done. That goes without saying if you're trusted enough to be part of the inner circle. The same apply to all company's who's involved in important dealings, standard procedure as far as I know.

Apart from our Manager, CEO, Chef Scout, the owners and possible a well trusted secretary I'm quite sure the rest is in the dark as much as everybody else. Any leaks will probably come from the players camp or the selling club. The rest is pure speculation.

With that in mind I literally trust nobody until the deal is finished. It's frustrating as hell but the wisest thing to do.
