I've just seen a BBM message dunno if it's a hoax but they are trying to rally 3000-5000 people at Hyde Park to loot in the west end....................

Edit: The sikh channels are tellling people in their communities to protect their areas. People in southall will get together if it kicks off.
 
Tonight will be a pivitol night imo, the police response should be more robust than it was yesterday and they really need to regain control of the country tonight before this spreads even further.

Does anyone know what the point of recalling parliament for one day is?

2 days way so if they can't get things under control by then and need to take more extreme measures like calling for a state of emergency etc they can debate it and vote on it.

Around what part? Ealing Broadway centre has already been shut down, heavy police presense, can hear the sirens from my house.

As for the others, I've got mates in the area reporting the same thing (I know people in those places who are likely to be ITK about these things) and I've seen some rumours of it on twitter too.

I highly doubt they'll get anywhere near those numbers at Hyde Park. It's not that organised.

Which is what pisses me off the most. The property and generational businesses of families are expendable, but if anyone lays a hand on royal property then, and only then will we get the appropriate use of force.

Perhaps us benevolent folk should trash up royal property just so we can finally get the attention of the authorities.

Just got back from a walk from West Ealing to Ealing Broadway.

I feel very embarassed by what's happened today. I did get a few dirty looks while I was taking pics and one guy even said to me "Go easy on the high street tonight". Thanks to these nutters that's the stereotype I have to live with for the time being.

Lots of shops have smashed windows and have been boarded up. Most of them have closed early today in preparation for more violence. Workers were repairing a road where cars burned and melted the tarmac. A shop I used to go to was all burned out and structurally unstable. These twats went looting in restaurants, shops and broke into houses at will. I also saw quite a few BBC and Sky reporters and camera crew lurking around. It's just mindless thuggery.

It does highlight the real worry for me now, mind you.

All the violence so far has been directed at inanimate objects and (indirectly) the police. If London divides along racial lines, and people start ganging up on each other, the consequences don't bear thinking about.
 
If people hit Southall they're going to get a huge surprise. The shopkeepers around there won't just roll over, they'll defend their businesses however they can.

Already heard that local shopkeepers are standing guard armed with sticks an steel poles etc.

Hounslow High Street just been closed and cordoned off. Got a text from Gym Hounslow saying that it will be shut tonight.
