Even you must be able to see the absurdity of what she is saying. 99% of people who are part of the so called underclass were born into it. It's no good saying that it's their own fault because there are measures in place for some of them to get out of the situation they are in, as the fact that the vast majority don't get out suggests that something is very wrong. The only difference between this class and any other is environment - take 100 middle class people from birth and place them into the kind of environment that those in the 'underclass' are brought up in and the majority of them would end up remaining a part of it.
If the best the UK can come up with as a solution to this problem is to blame and punish 'the chavs' - or whatever you want to call them - then we truly are fecked.
