why ?

united will be breathing down shearers necks because he seems to be the only hot goal scorer in the newcastle team.

Ruud will be looking to get 2 or more goals and reach his 100 goal mark for united.

Scholes seems to be scoring everygame.

so at least 3 or 4 goals from united i predict we will see.

also newcastle have shown the force they once were. beginning of season we won 3-0.
 
team i would field would have to be an attacking one. Newcastle dont need much a big defensive shield around the goals. Rio and silvestre
will only be required to defend shearer.

I think it will be 3-0 to Us.

I agree that Rio and Mikey can look after Shearer, however they will need to be on their game, as i expect Bobby robson to have Dyer running at UTd any chance he gets.

We always seem to get a result against the toon, and i dont see anything different this time
 
Have to play 2 defensive midfielders against newcastle, theyve a mobile and quick midfield, but they are all light weight, not much muscle, we can dominate aginst them if we pair Phizza and Keano. Otherwise bring back Kleberson for the right wing and the rest pick themselves. We should win fairly easily, Newcastle are good but theyve a soft center, have to control the field there.
 
They have a habit of conceeding plenty of goals at OT. 4-1 to us methinks.

No prediction on scoreline here (I never get it right and more so we lose when I predict a score). But I say United will win, with a second half barrage. I do think Newcastle will be fortunate to get one goal.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who stuffs up when naming the team (I had Timmy in goal and on the bench last week).

I agree with MrMarcello's team, although I would probably put Bellion on the bench with Fortune or, more likely, Butt dropping out of the team.
 
Man.Utd 3-1 Newcastle. NP for United. We are playing some high quality football the past few weeks, and I dont think Newcastle will be a problem on sunday. Goalscorers: RvN 2, Scholes and Shearer (P).

Unless fergie has something up his sleeve and wants to change the RW and RCM around. Maybe wanting Djemba or Butt to start but i dont see it any other way.

Also i feel fortune has performed alot better in the LB position compared to O'shea.
 
The title says the game is tomorrow the 12th, but skysports says the game is today the 11th. Somebody is wrong here.

It was a penalty, but Shearer didn't help himself by putting his hand up and looking at the ref on the way down. I thought it was a bad dive until I saw the replay.

Newcastle have been solid and we've been shite. We better show something a little better than that in the second half.
 
Kinell, that's why Silvestre is the best defender in the league. Two great tackles to cut down (cleanly) Shearer and then Dyer(?) and then he stayed with Hughes long enough to force him into wasting the ball... all within a few seconds.
 
Well, I guess that evens out that penalty non-call... Silvestre just had a perfectly good goal disallowed.
