She's singing beautifully now!

It's our defence, they're fecking good at the moment. Had Valeron et company totally under control. Best in the league IMO.

Poor Ferdinand, how is he to get back, with tha amazing defence we got there?!?!?!

the ref had a fecking poor game

we could have 3 penalty kicks
2 on Ruud and 1 on Giggs

he missed the one when O'Shea brought their player down as well

so the ref misses 4 in total

Is it my imagination, or is Paul Parker (on MUTV) a right miserable git! He doesn't seem remotely enthusiastic about the game/result.

HArd work during the trainings ;) . No point in splitting this line-up.

He is a miserable player, certainly not the best player to have on, though I thought he was great as a player.

Funny, but I could have sworn I saw Ole put in some great balls.

And Ron Atkinson was mistaken also.

Except Parker wasn't commentating - tbh, we might just as well have Eeyore in the studio.

Phil doesn't sound too fired up either, I guess Euro matches will never have as much meaning as games against Liverpool and Arsenal.

But Phil has just finished playing - we can forgive him if he's not hyper.

Confidence!? He was /is our best player.
WTF..

The ref should have given us two penalties in the second half... and also one for Deportivo for an O'Shea foul. Also the two Ruud goals were rightfully disallowed.

Make that 3, Giggs was fouled too.

That one on Giggs was a penalty, I think if Giggs would've gone down, that the ref would've given a penalty.

Those two on Ruud were nothing! I don't understand him sometimes, I mean he was playing very good, so I don't understand why he goes back to the diving thing . Did he learn that in Manchester , I don't remember seeing him diving so much when he was playing in Holland...

The match wasn't very good. Both halfs started good, with Manchester in the attack, but after the goals Manchester didn't want to attack so much anymore. Deportivo was very weak, so that way with Manchester United not really wanting to attack and Deportivo not being able to create anything it wasn't the most attractive match I've seen...

United were brilliant. Could have been three up within 10 minutes. 2-0 flatterd the spaniards.

Imo the sudden change of form has been down to the return of wes brown and silvestre moving to CB. Wes was magnnificant tonight.

Ruud deserved one penalty, when he went between two players in the box he was fouled.

Still falls too easily to my liking...

To be honest, Ruud deserved zero penalties. Ruud is one of my favorite players but he dived twice again. The reason why we are trying to hide this fact is because we've won. Whenever we lose though or play bad ppl become honest (out of being pissed off) and THEN they slam Ruud for diving.

i thought we were wonderful :) am well pleased  solid at the back.
you know it would be a great training exercise for our young centre backs to make them play day in day out even on matchdays with an old grandad. he would be worldly wise and offer words of advice (and worthers originals perhaps) throughout the game, but his zimmer frame would seriously handicap him "pace-wise" ahem. this way the young shirts would have to concentrate 100% (tweetie) and try to anticipate runs to protect le grand-pere.
then when he finally karked it it would be like a weight off their backs and we'd have a jubbly defence ;)

we havent cured that damned playing the offside rule have we though yet i notice
neither at the back or up front.

Good performance.

Unlucky not to score more: Ruud's first disallowed goal - didn't see any problem with it myself. His second was clearly offside (although Giggsy did well).

Ruud could have had six, to be honest. Giggsy should have had a few, and Scholes missed a sitter (by his standards). Gary should have scored also. But, 2-0 is a decent score at the end of the day.

The second penalty claim was perhaps legit, but the first wasn't.

The defence and Barthez had a great performance, especially Wes and O'Shea.

Nice way to go into the winter break. We'll have Keano next time

The team is really getting confident now. Coulda/shoulda hammered em by 3 or 4.

Yet another fantastic team performance!

The referee must have been one of the worst ever. I hope we'll never see him again. Tho, we should be happy he didn't give the penalty when O'Shea fouled Tristan. 1-1 and a new game...

Barthez is showing that he is a world class keeper. And we mustn't forget his contribution offensive.

Our back four is fantastic atm. Most chances for opposition is from long range shots.

Giggs was back to his best.

Ruud. What can one say? What a striker.

Veron played his usual European match. Fantastic that is. ;)

Are you sure Ole hasn't always been a winger?

Scholes is amazing.

Phizza has been quality this season. (Of course forgetting one match.) So to today.

In truth though, you really didn't expect a performance like that?

TBH, i thought we had another two gears!!

they weren't in our league, simple as that.

we're playing with great confidence.. and we've won 6 games on the trot...

things are looking lovely jubly...

no reason why we can't win the PL and CL.

imagine SAF winning the CL at OT!! :D

There is contact when he get thru those two players on the middle. Whether it's a penalty or not depends on referee's decision, but it's certainly not a dive.

And Giggs was pushed just when he want to shoot which was a clear penalty.

! watched the gamed and the replay showed that the defender didn't even touched the ball

1 was a clear push and 1 was a bad tackle
