The performance was like our 99 team. Giggsy was tremendous and yes ruud couldv scored at least 3 scholes had a few that he normally buries as well and giggs after all his wonderful work had just the keeper to beat. Lets just hope that it dosnt come down to GD because it will harm the integrity of the EPL. I would rather have a one game playoff at a neutral venue then lose on GD. Having said that it really should be based on Head to head as i have previously stated. If this happens and persey its us who win the league on GD you know the FA will change the rule.

Agreed, just like the CL, but they are the rules and the players always knew that.

Don't worry, how many goals have we scored in the last 5 matches now?

and playing sunderland? I think the Arse would love their chances if they were 3 points behind with one game left and only had to beat sunderland they would be clear favourites

Fergie just said Seba should be ready for Wednesday, don't know if that means the bench or starting 11. He trained this morning, but it would have been good if they could have played today or come off the bench.

And that cnut of a linesman on Wednesday!

you have to give ARSE some credit the went away and scored 2 and didnt conceed. We were at home and scored 3 and let in 1. We really needed to close the GD and GS section. I didnt have to know the ARSE score because you could tell at the end of the game the fans were wanting us to get more goals. I knew then that ARSE were winning. What a finish we are about to see I just think it would be like kissing your sister if we end up tied with that lot. They would parade that thing all around tyneside acting like they knew they were going to win it all along. Of course we would do the same on Merseyside

what? both games saw the teams win by two clear goals. and since if we are tied in GD the it goes to GS which meant that 3-1 would be better than 2-0. i understand fully the concern about scoring goals but really the idea that we are going to stroll onto a pitch and do nothing but improve our goal difference is just the sort of thing that will have other fans calling us arrogant.

Who would you rather support? The team that went out and attacked from first minute to last and made for a thoroughtly entertaining game, or...

a team that kept it tight pinched a goal and sat back didnt take any risks and basically bored Boro into a dull defeat

Tough call eh.

Who's next anyone interesting ????????

:D

Why is it plain daft??

Maybe you're being plain daft for saying the opposite - I mean, we could have scored more.

Disagree by all means - but what's daft about it.

you misunderstand the intent of the past FAR.. We improved our GS but not GD. GD is the most important of the two is it not? Also with the amount of chances we created today we could have closed the GS gap as well. Sorry that i have to resort to hoping we score loads of goals but i dont expect ARSE to lose and if we win our games that leaves us LEVEL on points. IF that happens we would lose the title. Certainly you dont want that do you? The performance was brilliant today best of the year imo but we should have been rewarded with at least 2 or 3 more goals. Dont u think ARSE will feel that the title is still theirs to lose. They have teams coming up whos defensive record is crap. Yes we can score more goals but with only 3 more games two away we cant expect to score 10 - 12 which is what we would need to lift the title if the GD is the same. All of us can say it dont matter if we lose on GD because of the "way" we are playing right now but lets be real do you want to hear all of those cockney bastards say the are better? What would our retort be "Henry goals were offside!" lame excuse when the trophy is residing at the library dont you think. SO dont get on my case when i want us to score more goals so this fecking scenario dosent happen. :p

You reckon?

Well I've heard that their crowd is going to be behind us - and subconsciously, will the players be keen to hand the title to Arsenal?

Because it was a fantastic performance, totally entertaining, we won against a tricky side 3-1, yet you still are not happy and wish that we had played in a different way!

i tell you what Bahama if we let Real hold the ball like blackburn did today we will be truly done by halftime. The tactic should be similiar to our domination at library. Clearly the superior team but two dodgy decisions cost us. The boys were fantastic going forward today and certainly will send a message to Real. I guess we are saving some goals for them. I remember when we beat west ham 7-1 me thinks and then didnt score in midweek at Real. I will take 4 give real a consolation with 2 seconds left in the game. BTW whats bartez status?

I just wonder, before the game, how many of you moaners would have taken a 3-1 scoreline and been happy?

It's obvious, if we lose by goal different, then there are clearer things throughout the whole season to blame it on other than the scoreline today. It was a fantastic result, and a fantastic team performance.

Who's moaning! I'm very happy with the points because I wasn't that confident - but it's a fact that winning isn't enough if we want to take the league title. We have to score goals, so it's a perfectly valid point for discussion - and if we can look back on possible mistakes as to why we've failed in the past, we should also look forward and try not to make the same mistakes.

Which means playing your best goal-scorers imo.

See my above post.

I'm perfectly happy Weaste - I just would have preferred to see an on-form Solskjaer in the side instead of Fortune. Which isn't playing a different way exactly but offering more of a goal-scoring threat.

i think the only way now for us to win the title is to keep winning..
and just hope that Arsenal will slip in their remaining games!!!..there's no way we will have better GD compare to Arse..coz i'm sure they will score lots of goals against sunderland and maybe leeds...
hope that Bolton or southampton will give as a hand...

We did score Livvie, and Ole missed when he schould have scored too. He could have been like that all game, he could of scored 20, who knows. Swings and roundabouts again.

Fortune however had an excellent match, yet you still after the result which you are happy with, wanted to play Ole instead of Fortune?

agreed livie! nobody is moaning we watched the game and saw the chances go begging thats all. Great performance brilliant play but forgive me if i was greedy and wanted more goals!

The crowd will want us to win, but after being humiliated by City, and United will be their last home game of the season I think, they will surely want to improve. Hopefully not though

And if we had played Ole, we would have been lighter in midfield, and Blackburn can be a tricky side to play. So, yes, we might have scored more goals, but they too might have scored more also.

As you say, Ole could have played from the start and had a nightmare. Coming on with 10 minutes to go - despite his reputation - means you snatch at chances more, so it isn't surprising that you miss.

It's obviously all hypothetical, but it's just this strange idea I have that if you want to score goals, you play your best goal-scorers.

And why be confused because I prefer to see Ole playing than Fortune - I think he's earned the right after recent performances. What's confusing about that.

got to do the lawn mates. Im out of town next week so my usual not sensical banter wont be on the boards unless i can find an internet cafe in Colorado Springs thats open on sunday early. Take care and i will be back when we lift the trophy after the charlton Game. Thats it see you

We need that early goal on Wednesday. I believe we got it right in the second half at Real and if we can get a break for a change with no flukie goals for Real we could do it IMO.
2-0 at home is no big deal eh, sh*t in 99 we only needed 2 minutes!

Because it's a mix between defence and attack. Ruud could have score a lot more, he had the opportunities, if Ole was there, they would still have fallen to Ruud, Ole wouldn't have effected them. Then again, Ole might have had other opportunities, might not.

And we did play our best goal-scorer.

Great as he is, more than one helps.

They're discussing it on MUTV atm.

Scholes is a bloody good goal-scorer!

He could hit 20+ in the Prem this year.

Who says otherwise.

The best movement we've shown in the league this year has been from Ole, Scholes and Giggs - they have created chances for themselves, and for Ruud. They look like a unit and when in full flow are a joy to watch.

Trouble is Livvie, they all can't play all of the time. You have to pick the best 11 for each occasion. It might not be the best player in each position either, but the best unit for a particular task.

I just think that you are being overly critical.

Watch the game tonight, you'll really enjoy it. Performance was fantastic, exciting attacking football.

I'm not so much criticising as passing a comment. If we want to score more goals, then Ole should be in the side. It's my opinion, but I'm more than happy with the result. Like I said, I wasn't confident of a win, so three points is great. And I'm sure I'll enjoy the game because I always enjoy good performances, and have always said they're more important to me than results.

I like Ole almost as much as you Livvie, but he can't play all of the time.

I really think him and Keane are being spared for Wednesday. I dont think Verón is going to make the starting 11, he'll be on the bench. It's a 4-4-2 in my mind.

I've never expected him to play all the time! Forget the name - I'm just concerned about the goal difference!

Ole had the momentum - he's scored in his last couple of games, plus made a goal at Highbury. That's the time to continue with players.
