Defoe goal ruled out for offside on 42mins as people pressed up after a corner, though O'Shea may have been playing him on.

O'Shea is sublime, ghosted down the wing, and got the ball in which just floated past Veron's head.

Bit lucky with the first goal, but the second was sensational. Ruud should have scored from a chance he made himself, but we deserve the two-goal lead, even if they had a perfectly good goal disallowed which could have made things hard for us. Thats what I thought. The linesman definately flagged for offside, but it seems that Minto's hand (which was there to protect his face in all honesty) sent the ball to Defoe.

A slow start, but once they got warmed up, and in particular scored the first goal, they started to play some lovely football, stringing lots of passes together and creating chances at will, with Scholes involved in most of the attacks. Good performances from Gary Neville, Silvestre, and Ruud.
 
We havent seen united play like they have at times today in ages. Quick passing, the hammers are chasing shadows. Long may it continue!

Yeah, defensively. At times I think he's been too negative with backwards passes and passing it back to the defender who gave it to him, but he's just keeping possession.

Very well. Long and short passes and seems to revel playing in that deep role. Phil has carried on where he left off against the arse with another good performance.

We're bound to get points somewhere along the line because of a dodgy decision, so not worth dwelling on points lost for the same reason.

I hope they come out second half and fight like we're losing - no good taking your foot off the pedal when we need the goal difference.

West Ham come out attacking, but it comes to nothing. We've just got to soak them up for a bit and get our possession passing going again, and bag another goal to dishearten them.
