We have no choice but to win. Three defeats already means another two could leave us as observers in the title race. We have no choice but to play our strongest XI possible every time. Ronaldo and Kleb should play.
 
We need to win, but we don't need to field our best XI. Stuttgart is coming up soon and I'd expect Keano to be rested with that game in mind.

For fecks sake. So we only play our strongest side once a month or something? Every game it seems Cal you want so-and-so rested. Keano's game against Chelsea has so far been his only outing for weeks, and we all know we're shit without Keano. No, enough's enough. We have to knuckle down and get a run going, no excuses. Keano can handle it.
 
Hey, I didn't say I want him rested, I was just speculating that Sir Alex will rest him with Stuttgart in mind. ;)
 
We need to win this match of course and to be honest should do so without any problems. We struggled against Villa last season though, 1-1 at Old Trafford and 1-0 at Villa Park.

Are you honestly saying we can't beat Villa with that side? The Stuttgart game is very important, the last thing we need is 2 ties against Real hanging over us for 3 months till we play them.
 
Fergie hopefully won't play that team u put up, keane and butt??, no thank u. Fergie needs to play an all out attacking team against villa at home and would like to see this team.

I'm not saying we can't, just that we shouldn't risk it. Your viewpoint is unbelievable arrogant and disrespectful, that's why I can't understand it. And whoever we play in the CL is tough opposition - if you're so cocky and confident why are you afraid to Real?
 
Some trivia to get worriers a little worked up....

We haven't lost 2 in a row for 32 league matches.

We have only lost once in 17 games vs Villa and dropped just 2 points from 18 at OT.

Last season Villa hadn't scored away from home until they came to OT... 1-1.

Villa have only won once in 39 visits here.

They have not won away from home in the League this season.

All set up nicely. 6-0 to the Villains.

I also think fergie shoud try bellion with Ruud, it could come off u never know!!. I want to see kleberson with keane this weekend instead of phil neville who offers nothing going forward.
 
Besides if we did lose i'd like to think we'd done our all to prevent that, wouldn't you? Can't stand it when we lose with several important players missing.

Bellion is not ready yet to start a premiership match yet and Diego has done nothing to deserve being dropped from the team. Yes he didnt play well against Chelsea but who did? Just because you dont like Forlan, dont get me wrong im not a huge fan of him, it doesnt mean he should be dropped for a reserve player who hasnt played a major part in a premiership game for us and is clearly not ready.

How about Kleberson? If you pick Kleberson, there ll be no place for Forlan. I like Forlan as a person because he always try hard for the team but he is not ready for PL yet, compared to Bellion. :lol: but true

If you see my formations, Kleberson is (deservedly) in both of them. I said that if we play 4-4-2 Forlan should play upfront with Ruud and Kleberson should partner Keano in the midfield.

I hope you're not seriously comparing Real to Villa. :rolleyes:

Villa are poor and I would expect us to beat them comfortably with or without Keano. The Stuttgart game is more important at this stage of the season and IMHO Keano will be required to ensure a victory.
 
I just hope we win so that we get back into the habit of winning.

1 - 0 would be fine, anything more a bonus.

Yeh but Butt has not been a first team player this season but phil neville has and I would rather play kleberson than forlan right now.

Again its "I expect". Teams dont win the league on expectations - otherwise Liverpool wouldn't have been waiting 13 years. We cant afford to lose games now so we should buck up. fecks sake.

Not for the first time, you are spot on.

We cannot afford to be taking risks, without Keane we have a weak side, no structure and no leadership, Cal, if you have it on video, look over the Fulham game again, there a side people 'expected' us to beat, we're chasing this league, we're 4 points behind, not 15 points clear.
 
Play Keano today and then what happens if he picks up a minor knock and fails to recover for Stuttgart?

Do you really want the risk of a 2 leg tie against Real hanging over us for 3 months?

Cal, you don't seem to understand that to be the best we have to beat the best. Your attitude is quite confusing. On the one hand you say "I am confident United can beat anyone" while on the other you are evidently petrified of playing Real Madrid! Never mind that we'll probably have to face them at one point if we are to win the damn thng! Our priority should be keeping in touch with the leaders in the league, not with keeping our players fit so we can play another game in a group we've already qualified from. Besides, this is all moot because Keane should be able to handle two games in four days having not played since sunday.

Not about being petrified if Real Madrid, but a tie against Los Galaticos hanging over our shoulder for 3 months can only do more harm than good and we have to ensure we do NOT get that.

I just have a feeling that Italians handle Real better and if we're lucky, Juve or Milan will handle Real and we seem to have a great record against Serie A sides in recent seasons. ;)

As for Villa, I still think we have enough (minus Keano) to beat them.

I have to agree with you here. Hopefully Juve and Milan take out Real, and then we knock them out.

How many days is it between Villa and Stuttgart? If it's three or less I would give Keano the day off and play Kleb in his position (so we still have direction coming through that midfield two). If it's four days or more then Keano should be able to back up.

We should win this very comfortably something like 3-0 .Offcourse SAF will rest afew of the big guns ,the stutgat game onwednesday is very important . We need to avoid Real or Milan this early in the season.It will also give the young playersa chance to prove themselves.
