We're sticking with Moyes.
I'm resigned to the club continuing with the biggest mistake ever in sporting history, but trying to be an optimist for a change.
We're sticking with Moyes.
According to some italian media (not particularly reliable) Spurs have agreed a deal with Allegri (ex Milan)

I am not blaming Moyes. As you said, replacing SAF was a massive task and so is leading a big club like ours. It was unfair to give the job to some mid EPL table manager who had never won anything in his entire career in the first place. I believe that Dave is a good man and much of what he said is down to pressure. However he's clearly out of depth here.
VG is not amongst my favorites. However he's an old sly fox who wont feel awkward succeeding SAF. As said he developed some of the greatest players out there and he wont expect the club to give him 100m to build a team in 'his image'. His experience in Germany, Spain and Holland will be pretty useful as we may end up signing some hidden gems which will bolster our quality without breaking the bank. Lets face it, you dont need a genius to 'discover' Kroos or Fabregas.
If Man Utd finish 7th (which I think is quite likely now) Moyes will definitely be gone and our chances of getting LVG become much much less![]()
Pretty sure Spurs have actually met with him. It's genuine, but I hope ours is too. What's the score with your LVG interest? Is it genuine or just paper talk? I'd take him in a heartbeat at United. Given the mess Moyes has made, he's exactly what we need.
LVG doesn't take any shit, he believes in playing the right way, he wouldn't be overawed by the prospect of following SAF (though he wouldn't do so directly anyway) and he has a track record of stabilising big clubs in the mire. I think he'd be a terrific option for 2-3 years if Klopp or someone of that ilk wouldn't come.
To be honest, standards have been lowered to the point that I'd happily take someone like Pochettino. Southampton are a terrific side to watch. Tactically, they're on point, they pass the ball well and they recover possession like rabid dogs.
Pretty sure Spurs have actually met with him. It's genuine, but I hope ours is too.
If the Glazers have met up with him and he has informed them of his plans that will cost far less than Moyes' to implement, surely it's the right business decision?

Worry not my friend, we are keeping Moyes and giving him £200m to replace 40% of our squad. If Man Utd finish 7th (which I think is quite likely now) Moyes will definitely be gone and our chances of getting LVG become much much less![]()
It is definitely genuine, we've met with him, he's mentioned us by name as one of the PL jobs he'd be interested in and quite a few of the Dutch football people seem to think he's seriously considering it or has already decided to do it (then again, if they talk as much shit as our ones do, probably means nothing).
I think he's most likely waiting to see what could come up this summer. Quite a few big jobs could open up.
The only thing that keeps me slightly optimistic is that I'm certain Ferguson still has a lot of influence at the club and I'm not sure he'd like a manager so different from himself and Moyes or a manager who, as good as he is, tend to leave after 2/3 seasons having caused some tension when he's spent decades at Man Utd.

If you ever needed a reason why LVG is a great short-term option..
It's not even a right business decision, sacking Moyes is the right thing to do - the sensible action!
Bayern and Barca have legends upstairs. That didn't stop Van Gaal taking those jobs.

One of the many depressing possibilities to look forward to.Van Persie will be probably be shipped out in the Summer too so we can let Rooney play up front on his own.

If sense prevails, Sir Alex and Sir Bobby won't have much of a say on the next manager. I respect their views and everything, but picking Moyes was unfathomable. It isn't the fact that they have legends upstairs, it is that LVG is such a different style of manager from Ferguson, who clearly had a huge influence on Moyes being hired.
That's why I think it will happen at the end of the season. Our stock price went down by £300m since Moyes had taken over till the end of Feb I think it was however it has risen a little, but this volatility makes it a far less attractive investment. The David Moyes effect could see more volatility next season therefore it is in their interests to do whatever they can do have a solid season and get the stock price back to where it should be and then continually increase it from there. This is done by employing the best manager in world football that is available to join the club.
The David Moyes experiment has failed, I would be surprised if they gave it another season.
That's the dream!
Unfortunately (for the rest of us) the Glazers are money men and they won't want to risk a Liverpool situation where one season outside of the CL quickly becomes 5. I think they'd have been willing to accept one season outside if there had been signs of improvement, signs of progress. From what I can see, you've gotten worse over the season.

Dutch source De Telegraaf claim Louis Van Gaal will give Tottenham his decision whether to become their manager next week. #THFC
Did you agree that De Telegraaf was quite reliable? If he's deciding, he probably has the info from Man Utd either way regarding Moyes and is making his decision accordingly.
So is it the end of this week or tomorrow? africanspur posted that on Tuesday.Spurs have said they haven't met with him since December. It was rumoured that Spurs want him to give them an answer by the end of this week.
I love sir bobby as much as anyone, but he thought that combover was a good idea and that tells you all you need to know about his judgementIf sense prevails, Sir Alex and Sir Bobby won't have much of a say on the next manager. He's not a particularly great manager, but he did win the league with Milan (just realised it, thought he didn't).
Me neither but then I realised Juve were in crisis even a couple years after coming back to Serie A and Inter had that Benitez year. What the hell. I didn't even realize Milan had won the Italian league at all since their 2003 spell with Ancelotti, let alone under Allegri
They don't have much clue about football IMO and will be advised by Ferguson and Charlton to keep him. That's the dream!

Here's hoping, eh.It's most likely Tuesday, but we find anything out I reckon till the end of the week or next week. We have to wait for club or van Gaal to brief the press.
Thankfully, they don't need any sort of clue to see that we've lost 15 times this season. They don't have much clue about football IMO and will be advised by Ferguson and Charlton to keep him.
Liverpool going into next season as defending champions, Chelsea as european champions and Arsenal as FA Cup champions.I can't think of much worse at the minute than Spurs ending up with a top class manager like van Gaal and us keeping David Moyes
