Just seen that myself:
Will the announcement be in any way tied in with the NYSE, like Moyes' sacking was?
Would make sense - so what time would that be?

Though not exactly sticking their neck out on this oneYeah heard that Talk Bollocks like to get ahead of thenselves sometimes.

You obviously have not been reading the papers. When there's a unanimous opinion amongst all publishers that something is going to happen... it almost always does. The last time this happened? The two days before Moyes was sacked.
No doubt it's happening ,it's whether it as been confirmed today.Though not exactly sticking their neck out on this one
The core of the team isn't rotten though. We have a great keeper, centre-backs who whilst young I find exciting and future legends, okay CM is an issue, but up front we're fine with Rooney and RVP.
What would worry me is if we let the failings of David Moyes lead to a consensus that a hammer rather than scalpel is needed to fix our problems. Yes it has holes here and there but it's still fundamentally a good squad and there's no way in hell a semi-competent manager would have us drop out of the top 4 this season, let alone 7th.
They only open at 9.30am apparently and it's 4.30am there now so 5 hours time. However in my experience with LSE and AIM listed stocks, which open at 8am, they release the information earlier. Normally around 7am.Would make sense - so what time would that be?

No one will care anyway, apart from L/Pool & JTshould announce it on Saturday so that no one will give a shit about City winning the title on Sunday. Makes sense!
That said, arsenal are making a habit of finishing in the top 4 thanks to the incompetence of the teams below them, rather than off their own good performances. I can't see how they'd continue the trend next season as well. I'm sure they'll fall out of the top 4 next season.Arsenals Defense is far stronger and midfield options are laughable compared to ours. Up front they are weak. I assume they'd be the team you think we'd so easily replace.

SkySportsNew will do a special on LVG the same day Shitty win the league.lol. i meant the media mainly. Can see the rage from the City fans when they win the league on Sunday but the first 15 minutes of sky sports news is Van Gaal's first interview for United![]()
Personally I am glad, he seems like the kind of manager that wouldnt shake things up too much and thats what we really need.Rumours from Spain suggest Ancelotti refused our offer.

Agreed. He would have been perfect coming in after SAF and just adding a couple of top quality midfielders, a LB and we would have been up there but after the Moyes farce, a good few players have been found wanting. We need a manager who can come in and crack the whip. LVG is perfect for the job.Personally I am glad, he seems like the kind of manager that wouldnt shake things up too much and thats what we really need.
Fair point. Will be intensely competitive for sure!Or the other view is they always finish top 4! They had many midfield injuries as well which impacts them more than most as its those same midfielders they relied on for goals. A top striker and their challengers for me next year.
Best thing Van Gaal did was avoid being the man after the man. It wouldn't have been easy.
I don't believe Talksport for a moment.
I just hope that Ed Woodward isn't trying to play clever buggers trying to use van Gaal as bait to get someone else which may all blow up in his face an we'll end up with someone second rate.
I don't know you know. I think a lot of that is now marred by Moyes' incompetence and to a degree perhaps his insecurities. I don't think a manager like van Gaal or Mourinho would give two shits about being the man after the man. They'd probably relish it like a dog relishes the taste of its own arse.
This Woodward talk is getting ridiculous.

Oh god he is isnt he, hes trying to get Guardiola and hes gonna offer him that 18m a year.....LVG will piss offOr just wait until leagues end (the German is about to) and maybe something happens, like Bayern making a shock decision. But I can't see it happening.

It does seem odd though. The fact we've got a vacancy isn't a secret. The fact he's leaving the Dutch job after the World Cup isn't a secret. I just don't know what the purpose behind all these delays are. I accept that negotiations are complex and take time but it's been a 'done deal' according to those quite reliable for some time now. The fact that they've now pushed it back into next week seems strange. What can happen/change between now and next week? When next week why not push it back another week?
I'm worried if it means we're trying to see who else is out there and could end up being told to piss off by van Gaal or that our apparent reluctant to get it closed down will see him snapped up by another top club. We're not the only big job that'll be available soon. He says he wants to manage in England but who knows if he won't be tempted to elsewhere if the right offer came his way.
When everything relies solely on us, arbitrarily pushing the deal back makes me suspicious.
