Why are we being linked with Conte? His tactics has been proven ineffective in Europe and the guy is only capable of winning at home where Juventus are superior both in terms of money and transfers. FFS he doesn't even sign his own players (the director of football find and sign new players at Juve).
Even Moyes would have won the Serie A with Juventus
The more I think about it the more concerned I am about this.
Not that Van Gaal isnt well equipped to deal with this, but still, it would be a damaging spat and its an unnecessary risk. I dont know what Giggs would bring to the role of assistant manager that is worth the risk of it. What is he actually going to learn watching Van Gaal that he hasnt already picked up watching SAF as a senior player with his ear?
He needs to cut his teeth out in the real world, on his own. He doesnt need to be put in the middle of an authoritarian new manager making quite difficult decisions and a squad full of his own friends and colleagues.
Till now I have been ambivalent about Giggs being assistant but Im gravitating towards being actively against it now.
I could even imagine him doing the dance from Fatboy Slim's Weapon of Choice video...Louis' such a tease.
He's actually starting to remind me of the managerial equivalent of Christopher Walken with his theatrics.
I question as well how he can go from being manager to assistant manager. You dont see business men going from CEO to a lower position.
Having said that i dont think giggs is cut our for managing anyhow. His body language is all wrong. Moyes used stand on the touch line with his hands in his pockets like a shy kid in the playground and giggs does the same.
But he has to keep quite. You rarely saw mike phelan or rene meuleteen give media interviews when ferguson was the man. He would have fired them if he did.
But for me i would like you say remove these generals from the equation. Its what Stalin used do. Its what ferguson would do with players.
True but with this whole LVG thing dragging on for no discernible reason the "uncertainty" bit will have resonated.I doubt anyone with any hope of doing anything with the career will listen to what Le Tissier has to say, "whats that Matt? and end up never having done anything with my career like you?"
I think even Philip Neville can win the Serie A with Juventus. They are a solid side build on solid foundations and surrounded by clubs who are in a right mess.
I can see why your name has been repeatedly mentioned in the shit posters thread.

Apart from Sherwood parting ways with Spurs! It seems that Van Gaal to us is the worst kept secret in world football.
Monaco apparently want him and are ready to triple his wages or something ridiculous like that, if that did happen I wonder if he'd try and sign Vidal from Juventus? He did say exactly that. For all we know in a couple of days, Conte could announce himself as Manchester United manager. Conte seems unhappy but there are no top jobs open right now except for ours that would be an upgrade on Juventus.
In his defence two of their biggest rivals (Inter and AC) have self-imploded in recent years but then again Roma have been excellent this year and Napoli seem to be constantly getting better.

I think LVG is big enough to deal with Giggs but I agree that a total clean break would be better. You only have to see the ridiculous reaction when we beat Norwich to understand how sentiment can overwhelm logic when it comes to a legendary player. If things don't go immediately to plan under LVG (and they probably won't), we don't want constant mutterings about Giggs and the class of 92 wanting a return to the "United Way". Maybe I am doing Giggs a disservice and he would respect a coach with hugely more accomplishments on his CV than Moyes had, but I think it would be better for both parties if Giggs took a coaching or managerial position elsewhere.
Not sure if posted... not a done deal then... maybe, feck knows.
This is exactly what I am afraid of that the club are arsing about and will piss him off so much he will get another offer. I have no real logic behind this just an uneasy feeling that vanGaal is the new thiago/fabregas for us.Strikes me as a warning to be honest. Deal with it or I'm off - I have others chasing and I'll only wait so long.
Yep, I expect it will be done after he announces his Dutch squad? Or has that already been done?FFS calm down. It's done, the club just need to announce the thing. He can say nothing other than what he's said. Club need to announce it.

Van Gaal being extremely professional for Dutch International and United by deflecting every question about his future. Journos clearly know it's happening so they trying to almost force the entire deal to just move on, ASAP.
Decision belongs to Manchester United and when Louie said that this club is the biggest in the world, he paid even more respect to everyone here.
Can't see that not happening as Giggs also said his future must be decided very soon and wanting the same thing.
It's a shame really, Serie A could end up being the current Bundesliga at this rate. And Inter and AC just seem to be getting weaker too.Roma has been doing better but they are still recovering from the change of the guard between Sensi and the new owners. Many forget how close they were to bankruptcy a few years back. Napoli are also a good side however their owner is a bit cuckoo. Both clubs are in no position to seriously compete with juve
I'd say that's a given.Sounds like he's getting pissed off with all the questions frankly.
I guess we are just waiting for the right time to announce it, unless we are talking to other managers too?

It's obvious he wants the job though so I doubt he'd jeopardize his possible position by "warning" his possible future employers, he knows that he's probably second choice and yet he's still around so not sure if there is any warning there at all.Strikes me as a warning to be honest.
